My wife told me a some story about her uncle a few months back. He saw his dog get mauled by either a mountain lion, or a pack of coyotes (can't remember). I guess it was pretty brutal and the guy was never the same again.
My sister told me was chased down the road by a tiger once. Either that or a pack yorkshire terriers. Not really sure which, one or the other
