Trevor Dunbar wins Footlocker H.S. Division!

What a shameful yet highly predictable letsrun thread. Another example of why letsrun is such a detriment to the sport. Had Zivac been non-Caucasian and just showed up to run the post-season races, all of you ignorant racist high school crybabies would have thrown a fit.

Haile actually finished 8th at FL when you adjust for his age.

Those that say there is no proof he is age 21, my reply is there is no proof he is age 18 either. Given Haile's refusal to show his passport, it appears more likely he is 21 (and soon to be 22). This will eventually come out. No D1 college coach is going to give Haile an athletic scholarship without first seeing his passport (birth certificates are far too easy to forge and Haile has a valid passport).

As for those who say Trevor is the 1st non-African, I'll add Trevor is also the 1st non-cheater.

Rumor has it in a post race interview he was quoted as saying he was going to go out and celebrate by purchasing a six pack.

maybe many are motivated here by racism, but this is the one controversy that is legitimate, as he and his sister themselves called him 20 last year in races. on the other hand, you could just view Solomon as a cipher for the hundreds or even thousands of Ethiopian 18 year olds who would have beaten Dunbar yesterday had they spent the past semester at an American high school. My one question about Dunbar is why he didn't take some risks and go all out after Solomon, who only beat him by something like 7 seconds. Here I am referring to Dunbar's own words to that effect. What did he have to lose? Probably Solomon had more in the tank anyway.

You don't see people talking like this about Futsum Z, Zivec, and Joseph M. It isn't racism.. it is that he clearly provided two ages and lied.

This is scary. That picture of Solomon Semunguse looks EXACTLY like Solomon Haile. I've not been one to buy into this whole thing, but wow. I'd never seen this evidence before, either. Not only does it seem that he's over age, it seems he's also taken money for running. Now, we can all debate the merits of "amateurism" and all that, but those are the rules as they stand. So, if he's actually taken money, it doens't matter if he's 18 or 21, he's ineligible.

I bet we figure out how old he is when a college coach trys to talk to him. Cause his little crap that he does in maryland won't fly at a major university. I really hope Dunbar goes to Portland. It would be awesome to see what Conner could do with a top level Footlocker kid. Conner guided Kinsela to 4th at NCAA's and he was not a Footlocker finalist. He did run low 8:50's for 3200 so he was very good in high school. Dunbar's dad ran at Portland with Conner during there college days. Hopefully Trevor will follow in his dads foot steps.

Solomon Haile is the U.S. High School National Champion, just like Shadrack Songok is the reigning 10k NCAA Champion. Just because these kids are in high school doesn't mean that the foreigners aren't around. If the men in the NCAA have to race against the Kenyans and other foreigners, then these high school kids need to grow a pair of nuts and quit complaining about a BETTER HIGH SCHOOL KID that just happens to be from a different country come in and kick all of the class of 2009s asses.

P.S. if all of yall think that Shadrack Songok and most other African runners in the NCAA are of legit age...you are all on crack. Some of those guys look like they are at least 30 competing against 18-22 year olds...seems a bit harder to beat them with a 10 year age difference compared to a 2 year age difference

I saw Solomon Haile have a drink at a bar last night.

They either didn't card him because he looks 25, or his ID says something a lot older than what he claims.
