by any order I mean either Nastia or Shawn winning and the other coming right behind them

Yeah know your absolutely right... who cares that Ben Johnson had enough drugs in him to drop a draugh horse, he was the fastest man out there... oh right that makes no sense at all.
If the Chinese are younger than the rules state it doesn't matter if they performed flawlessly because they were breaking the rules.
On a different not its weird how men's gymanstics seem to prefer healthy well muscled and generally healthy looking normal adults whereas women's gymnastics has to have a minimum age requirement. I think both sports are great to watch but I can't help but think that women's gymnastics only encourages a unhealthy pressure on young kids/permanent damage to their bodies.

Most women's sports are that way. Estrogen is not a friend to athletics. How many pre-teen distance running phenoms do we see emerge on a local, state, and even national stage only to totally flop once they start to develop?
I would like to see a documentary on the lives of the girls that go to these extream measures for gymnastics and see how it affects the rest of their lives. A friend of mine in considering moving across the country because his little girl may be accepted into one of these gymnastic boot camps.. It's crazy.
My favorite thing is how KING only talks (writes) to hear himself speak, and doesn't pay attention the the valid points everyone is making. If you can't see the difference between commie/socialist government-sponsored doping and the bad apples in free countries like U.S., Britain, Australia, etc., then it's pointless to even discuss it with you.
One thing, though - people were complaining about the Chinese gymnasts' ages BEFORE the Olympics started. As soon as the official rosters came out, the NYT wrote a report about all of this in JULY.

My point with this was to refute your claim that the only reason anyone complained is because the U.S. lost... which just isn't true.
Dear China lover, and American hater:
Gymnastics doesn't work that way. You are an idiot if you think it does. The younger you are, and more tyrannical the training methods under which you are subjected, the better you will be, generally, in Gymnastics. The Chinese win because they kidnap girls who are very young from their families, beat them until they perform, and only let them see their parents AFTER winning a gold medal. Less than half a percent of the Chinese gymnasts end up near the top. The other 99.5% are usually sexually abused and sent for breeding programs in China. If you think this is a lie, you are an idiot. It is well documented by many sources, the reason no one talks about this right now is because this is China's show and no one wants to embarass China because of the $$$. Bob Costas was pissing himself when Bela said what he did, if you couldn't tell. Ask yourself, why? You have no idea how bad the Chinese are just to win a few medals. Its horrible. You don't see the thousands of young girls who don't make it. If you did, the sport would be forced to change forever. Since $$$ rules the sport in the end, it won't change. Don't worry, those thousands of young girls are worth it, I suppose.
It was pretty funny when Bela was calling them out on live national TV. He didn't even make a fuss about it, he was just like "yea it's a shame, they're 12".
I was cracking up because you could tell Costas didn't want to touch the subject.

Haha - Me too! I actually had stopped watching for a while, and then turned it back on as Costas & Bela were talking. I was dying - that was priceless.
After watching those 13 and 14 year old Chinese girls compete and win the gold, I have never been more frustrated and fed up with the absolute farce that is communist China. It is so disheartening to see the lengths to which a system that does not work would go to conceal its true inner workings. The way a country would neglect half of its people (half equalling over 500 MILLION) in order to put on a "show" for the world during a mere 16 days. From 13/14 year old gymnasts, to lip-synching 9 year olds, to digitally remastered fireworks displays. Its all a farce and ridiculous that the world stands back silent, and in awe, when half the people are starving and living off of $2 a day.
All these just sound like Americans are just being jealous because China won more gold medels. To the lip-synching 9 year olds, no one were forcing any of those 2 girls to fake the preformance. If so, that is just protecting national interests.
Fake age gymnasts? Come on, Americans are just being jealous and making things up. Yes, they do look young and small. Because American's are eating junk, processed food made themselves look old and fat, that does not make Chinese are doing it. Hey, these gymnasts never had any fast food in their whole lives.

Your broken English sounds oddly... well, I won't say it. But are you, by chance, from China? If you aren't going to actually read the board, please go away. There are numerous posts here that explain (backed by proof from news links) that China cheated in this particular event. These reports were published before anyone won or lost this particular event.
Oh, wait, you probably can't read those links because you are IN China, and they won't allow you to access links that criticize them. Keep those blinders on - they work for your idiocy.
he angsted we can say whatever we want here in America, land of the free.
I wonder what would happen if he said what we do here, in China? LOL at the China
If so, that is just protecting national interests.
that's the kind of shit that makes me want to beat the shit out of the chinese in every damn sport
Do you really think that there's less processed artificial food in China? Having lived there for a while, I can assure you they eat stranger, more artificial foods than we do by far. Although I suppose you're one of those people who think anyone in good shape is vegan or eating raw food or something.

True, that idiot can say what he/she wants. I think they get the firing squad for that. Similar punishment is given out to the athletes who don't win gold there...
I also want to point out that in the U.S., unlike some commie countries, we don't define ourselves by an event that occurs once every four years. Sure, we are very happy when the U.S. wins gold (or silver or bronze), but we don't think we will "show the World who we are" (I said that using my best fake-Soviet accent) by virtue of the fact that our top athletes win hardware every four years. I mean, as far as Olympics go, I think the U.S. has established itself as the top medal-earner of all-time (acknowledging that China didn't compete for many years because of its commie ways). There is nothing to be jealous of - if the athletes win, great! If they lose - oh well, better luck next time!
On that note - is anyone else a little nervous for that one Chinese rower who didn't show up for his races because he got the time wrong??! He'll probably never be heard from again! What a sad country.
Back to my point: I feel that most people (here, anyway) like hearing the "feel-good" stories of the Olympics, rather than the medal counts. Like Lopez Lomong and Eric Shanteau. Eric didn't win a medal, but everyone's talking about him. And who cares whether Lopez wins a medal in a few days?! The fact that he's even alive and made it to the Olympics (and got voted to be the flag bearer) is amazing!
I too do not understand the "show the world what we're made of" crap. We cheer for our guys same as any other country, but the US isn't trying to dominate everyone to make a point that we're the strongest country in the world.
Oh well, soon enough China you'll get yours. We all do.

And let's not forget that they eat dogs and cats (and horse meat) over there ALL THE TIME. Beijing actually told its restaurants not to serve those dishes during the Olympics, so as not to offend Western tourists!
Also, I just read an article that said China has a huge percentage of obese & overweight people now, mainly due to the emergence of fast food. Although I'm sure the gymnasts don't eat that stuff - just one snow pea per meal is all that is allowed.
So, what are the evidences the US have questioning the ages of the gymnasts?? They look small and young?

They are actually saying that the "fake" singer's father (and possibly even her) did not know that her voice was being faked. If she were just lip-syncing to her own prerecorded voice, people would not be so offended. But China's facade is rapidly cracking to reveal the dirt & darkness that lies beneath... poetic, eh? And I didn't have someone else type it for me either (you know, because my nail polishis chipped).
Here's a good article, with a picture of the two girls in question:
I personally think the girl deemed "not cute enough" is cute too... what's the problem?
Here are some excerpts for the Chinese "protecting national interests" posters who probably don't have access to the article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/13/sports/olympics/13beijing.html?em"Initially, a 10-year-old girl was selected “whose voice was really good.” This girl held the role for most of the rehearsals — until Mr. Zhang decided she was too old."
"In his radio interview, Mr. Chen [director of music for the show] said a member of the Communist Party’s powerful Politburo, whom he did not identify, attended one of the last rehearsals, along with many other officials, and demanded that Miaoke’s voice “must change.”
...
...
OMG - clearly, you cannot read. This was all posted here, go back a page.
Here's the article explaining it all:

The girls said they were 13 one year ago in television broadcasts. That would make them 14 now... duh.
There are published documents that had their birth date as 1994. But then they had magical passports that came out in July, which said 1992 instead.
The list goes on and on. Try to keep up, eh?
