Luckily he's only 17, and won't turn 18 til late oct. So he's legit age wise, and there will be no age disputes this time around for a fast HS kid.

There is no doubt after viewing Greer's 1:47.6 win that he is full of talent and the real deal. The only question is after making such a monsterous leap will he be able to cope with the spotlight and pressure that will follow him into his senior year of High School?

He should be able to run sub 1:42 next year easily. Did you see how much he had left in the tank? 1:42, you heard it here first. He will take down Webbs mile record too. Heard it here first. Germans two mile record will go down by this guy too, you heard it here first.

I dont know about his 400m split at this race... but he told me he anchored the 4x400m relay for LO at the state meet and he splitted a low 48.

and I dont know if any of you also knew this, but as a Sophomore (16yr old), he came away from the state meet as the 1,500m champion, running a 3:57.87

also... I know his family and him personally, and I do not believe he is on any sort of drugs.

He is an incredibly hard worker, and I believe he got his competetive side from coming from a family of 6boys, and their neighbors had at least a dozen kids, most of them boys. He was one of the youngest, and they were all athletic and many of them ran track before him.

he's not on drugs. he works really hard during workouts, on the track and off - like plyos and other things. He's been very talented since elementary school and junior high and is fortunate enough to have many great coaches manage such talent (williams, lider). While his incredible race on Saturday was a huge improvement, it comes as a small surprise - if anyone would run something like this, it would be someone like Elijah.

Lance, why is it when most true conspiracies are busted up they're usually comprised of left-wing kooks that hate governments somewhat but the average person even more? As far as running goes, I doubt there's conspiracies there, but you sure seem touchy about it. I guess that guy hit too close to home on some of your cherished political beliefs. Or maybe you spent a lot of time nuzzling up to your Soc professors.

He ran faster than Webb ran (1:47.68 for Greer, 1:47.74 for Webb). He's the fastest since Granville, the current record holder.

3:57 for 1500m isn't incredibly good. sure its good at a state level but loads of people have run better than it.
