Usain Bolt first of all is a incredible talent; however, I find it hard to believe that a clean inexperienced 100m runner can SHATTER the 100m world record in his first serious season in the event. Look how early in the season it is when no Olympic title contender is in top form and he just blasted 9.72. Dwight Stones posed the right question during the interview, "How do you explain what you just did?"

Is this really VIPAM? Come on man. Inexperienced. He might be young, but he's not inexperienced. And inexperienced at what? Running as fast as you can in a straight line for 10 seconds. Where's the experience part come in? I think experience is overrated when you're talking 100m. Marathon? Yes. 1500m at the Olympics? Yes.

A 10 second flat out sprint...mmm...dealing with pressure maybe. He said he's been working on getting out of the blocks a lot recently. If you watch carefully, you see he was out before Gay. After that, you accelerate smmothly and keep running till you hit the tape. It's not rocket science. Come on, the kid ran 45 at 15 years old. It's not like he came out of nowhere.

Inexperienced at 100m. Going from a world class 200m talent to SHATTERING the 100m WR in June is highly suspect. Sprinting isn't as easy as you detailed in your post and breaking an already incredible 100m WR in EARLY June is something I find hard to believe by a clean inexperienced converted 100m runner- not saying I'm right but that's my opinion.

carl lewis ran a low-altitude auto timed wr of 10.00 when aged 19y, breaking sanford's mark of 10.02

it's quite possible to break 100m wrs at a young age with little experience

Look at that wingspan. If he were an American he would have started playing wide receiver in middle school, and by HS he would have been the next highly touted recruit, and likely never allowed anywhere near a mondo surface unless it was on the way to the gridiron.

So how about Chelimo? She's a converetd 200 meter runner moving UP in distance to a tactical event and runs the fastest time in 11 years. Do you find that highly suspect? I find it amazing, but not highly suspect. Maybe that's why the great ones are great - because they just go out there and run fast and leave people like you and me to worry about drugs and tactics and wind and altitude and birth certificates and gender tests and all of that stuff.

That's true, or BBall. After looking at him tower over the other guys its hard not to think height like that gives you greater potential. If he looked the same as everyone else and ran that I would be more inclined to think drugs than I am now. They sure didn't fill him out much if he took them.

9.55 is achievable by that reckoning!

I have the answers. I know how they are running faster and faster unlike in the other events, there is only now one way to train for it.

It is no longer a speed endurance event. It is all about top speed/ max velocity training and then finding the right conditions to go off in!
