Anybody ever see the hurt that these guys could put on themselves?
Joanie and Radcliffe...
You have to admire the mental toughness these two have. They just 'beat' everyone into submission.

bk and dk.... both went beyond what people believed might be possible...
bk sub 13 - and he's white
dk 7:20 - awesome!
You puny little sunken-in chested skinny runts call people who look like you your idols? Ha? You should be real men and choose someone like The Rock or myself. Ha HA HAHAHAHA
John J. Kelley - aka Johnny Kelley, the younger. He won the US National Marathon Championships 8 consecutive years. 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963 and he won Boston in 1957, plus had several seconds. Show me somone else with that kind of durability who races at that level and I'll consider changing. Plus, he's a real gentleman.

I always thought Pat Porter was pretty amazing. Ingrid Kristiansen, Deena Drossin, our man bill rodgers...
This is from another thread, but it's impressive to see one man's accolades and accomplishments against so many other top athletes.

Mr Chest,
I will be over to bench press your house shortly.
Michael,
Sorry, no aim. Blocked at work and I am typically only online at home to check hotmail. You can email me at morceli1978@ hotmail.com.
El G is the man. Although, it would be interesting to see a matchup between a 94/95 Morceli and a 98/99 El G (picked 98/99 as that's probably when El G was at his most dominant). That would be a race.
Oh, sea,
Johnny Treacy hands down. Gerry Deegan inspired hope too.
Steve Scott, anybody?
Paul Tergat
Alberto Salazar
I think you meant Don Kardong... (the quote was ice cream I believe) He has a bunch of great stories doesn't he. Run in some amazing races and hey if they ever did take Waldemar Cierpinski's gold away he would get the Bronze
As for my idols lets see I am going to break them up as well
So many to choose
Current - Geb, Tergat, - just love to watch these two go at it plus - Add to them Kennedy I think he still has it
REcent Past - Coughlan and Coe probably my two faves all time
Further back - Nurmi, Zatopek, Viren and Pre
Women - Jennings, Waitz, Joanie, Kristiansen and always loved JJK.
Thats just a few there are so many I can think of though
Men: John Treacy, Paul Tergat, and Craig Virgin
Women: Anne Trason, Lynn Jennings, and Deena Drossin
Without realizing it until after I wrote them out, I guess you've gotta be able to run a great cross country race to make my list.
