Excellent news. Sarah Bowman will slap her around a bit, show her who's boss, and teach her how to pace correctly.

I agree with the negative splitting for speed based 800m runners but she split 56/67high...that's like a 1:42 guy spliting 46/56.
If she is serious about breaking 2 minutes she will not have any 200m portion over 32 seconds.
I am always amazed at that she can run so well while being so top heavy. You'd think that would slow her down, but maybe the sprints are different.

I wondered about that also but it doesn't seem to bother her at all 2:03.98 Chanele will break 2:00 this year! I know her splits were off but the fact she could open with 56 so early in the season is just a freaky thought to what she will run later.
Although I don't really agree with the way she runs her race, I think that she could be preparing herself for the Trials because she know that Alysia Johnson likes to take it out hard too. If she knows that that's how she's going to have to run the race, she could be just preparing herself to be able to race in those situations. Hopefully she gets stronger and will be able to hang on better in that last lap. Best of luck to her, and I hope we get to see her run in Beijing this summer.
I think she is only 16 in this photo, but she looks almost as old as Mutola. Oh well, that's life.

Evidently the flaring of your nostrils is the key to running a fast 800 meters.
The fastest way to run an 800 is with your second lap 2-4 seconds slower than your first. Had she gone out in 58-60 seconds she may have gone 1:59-2:00 instead of 2:04.
This board is full of idiots who just type without much to say in terms of knowledge. Where are the few experienced and knowledgeable coaches or runners like Wejo, Vipam, Jason, Renato, Henry etc. Someone please pound it into these drones head there isn't any ONE tactic that applys to all 800m runners.
Renato Canova please come explain this to this high school checker players!

"these"
That's like setting the world record for the first half of the marathon and then running a sloppy 74 minutes for the second half. Outrageous! Why must people on this board defend this type of pacing? Kids might read those defending her pace and think that that's how you're supposed to run a race. UTTER LUNACY! People, be responsible. Think before you post.
the sooner she's out of the united stars and with a good and not sketchy program the better. the girl is a talent and needs to leave the sketchiness well behind her before it calls again.

I beg your pardon? Interesting, but surreal post.
are they allowed to practice at any major college facility in the greater philadelphia area? if not, why?
this has nothing to do with ms. price, and everything to do with her sketchy coaches. if this is new to you, you know nothing about southeastern pa athletics. That would be a shame. ..... if you are posting on this topic.
The sooner she's away, the better she'll be, the more she'll improve, and the less sketchiness that will surround her.
Here is the most successful 800m ever by a "speed-side" runner:

50.8/52.6= 1.8 second differential.
Case closed.

If he ran it like Price, that would be about the same as White Lightning going 46.4/57...
We maybe seeing/reading alittle more about Chanelle Price in the upcoming weeks and months. I contacted a few sport publications and most don't have much knowledge of the High School phenom.
I certainly hope so. Even sub 2:02 this year would be huge. Hopefully her times don't take the path that Michael Granville's did.
I agree but I think the injuries and (not certain) then lack of interest may have curtail Michale Granville's progress. Barring injury Chanelle Price can do some great things as she has much room to improve on already great success!
