Steve Ovett could run under 47, way faster 800s, and ran I believe right around 1:02/1:03 for the half marathon. No contest.
Which half marathon did he run 1:02/1:03?

Alan Webb has never hit close to 60 homers in a season. Babe Ruth was the best ever.

There is no way webb cant run faster than 48.8 and Ryun 47.8. Id say they could each run at least 47.00.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda!!!! How about showing me a race result that shows what they LEGITIMATELY ran for 400 meters.
Same goes for Hicham El G and his phantom 1:42 800 meters.

Ryun ran a 46.9y anchor at the Kansas relays about an hour or so after a 3:55 mile. He was probably a 46+ guy if he trained for the 400.

And he might have been a great concert pianist if he had practiced his scales more, but that's not really relevant.
