Totally agree. This is probably why I say "PR" if I'm talking to other runners, who know what it means, "personal best" if someone at work or wherever asks how my race was on the weekend.
"Personal record" sounds cheesy as hell, like something you'd tell retarded kids: "Wow, Timmy, that's you're *personal record* for not spitting in class."
