I won a wooden shoe at a race in Northern Indiana. I need to go back to complete the pair.

A bottle with trail dirt in it. Another race, it was a large can of coffee.
A handmade coffee cup with a sculpted salmon on it.
At one race, the RD made it a point to give out trophies and a gag prize. Third place in our division got Red Vines, the guy in second place got bungee cords, and I got a box of Little Debbie cakes.
I won an ash tray, no kidding
1. An ear warmer thing. Except, it was knitted by someone. Pretty sweet going for a run rocking a home-knitted ear warmer.
2. A wooden duck.
A plate (one for eating off).
A rusty railroad stake mounted to a plaque at the Ironhorse Half Marathon in Simsbury, CT- it runs along an old rail-trail and someone goes out and picks up a bunch of these throughout the year leading up to the race. My favorite plaque ever!
I won a wooden duck when I was 9 years old. I thought it was pretty cool then. Now I don't have any idea what that race had to do with a duck.
won a 5k and got a boque (sp?) of flowers.
Valentines was two weeks prior so i just gave them to my girfriend and told her they were a late valentine gift. Then we did it.
So i guess i really won some punani.
Thanks race directors :)

Jars of locally produced honey and blueberry jam and a mug by an area potter for three age group wins at a trail running festival.
Also a cow bell made out of Norwegian Army shell casings, but that was at a xc ski race.
Hey, another Yooper! Holy waah!

Do you still have it?
I won a can of paint back in the 70s.
Three years in a row I ran in a small local marathon/half marathon. First two years I ran the full, third year I ran the half. Each time I placed second, whether I wanted to or not.
Prize each time was a bag of apples. Same prize for first, second and third place.
Third year, I was out tearing down the course after my finish (I was on the race committee, looked after water stops) and my buddy the RD gave away my bag of apples to someone else, thinking someone must not have showed up for their award (well, duh, he knew I was out tearing down the course). Bastard! They were juicy, tasty apples.

1. a railroad spike for a race run on an old railbed
2. 2 large flat rocks (2 separate races, a 10K followed by a mile), that would fit well in a garden as stepping stones
3. 1 rock chunk of the mountain (with a little moss thrown on for color) the race was held on
4. 4" cut PVC piping with the award painted on it by what appeared to be a 1st grader
All from South Dakota races
I once ran a race in cincy and won a microwaveable hot dog cooker and omelet maker. weird.
A two hour rental of a stretch limo.
Used it to take my boss out to lunch on her birthday. Never a bad thing to impress the boss.

Sorry, ash tray for a running race beats that.
I've won some food prizes -- burrito, pie, loaf of bread --but once I got a thing I never did figure out what it was supposed to be. Someone on the race committee knitted these things that were something of a cross between a neck gatier and a medallion - too loose to be a gaiter, too floppy and yarny to be a medal. Maybe they were supposed to be small boas.
