Reminds of the Tracksmith debacle a few years ago when they made the BQ singlet exclusively for BQers and everybody lost their d@mn mind.
I think if you put the Nike window display into context, it makes a bit more sense. It starts "Runners welcome...", I'm guessing it's somewhere on Newbury St and all of the runners are arriving into town and hitting all of the popup shops which are all within blocks of the expo and those little popups are all over the place and every brand has a Boston Marathon weekend-specific strategy and brand showcase. It makes sense that they made this sign specifically for a pop up or Nike storefront in Boston just for this specific occasion. Nobody BQd by walking, so it doesn't offend anyone who's actually there.
