Grant's off the back at 46 min. Kind of disappointing.

Wildschutte make a hard move to the lead
Adriaan Wildschutt is now pushing and the only one semi-responding is Zouhair Talbi at the moment

His hat must weigh more than his shoes.
Was hoping Fisher would do well today … happy to see Wildschutt up front!

People are too naive on here. He’s not running an almost 2K WR and become a top half marathoner a month later.

Yeah, if he breaks 60 here it would be pretty insane.

Anyone know how he trains? Seems odd there's no posts about his workouts
1:00:53 for Grant, which considering the pneumonia and shorter distance indoor focus, is decent
Thrilled for Wildschutt! As an Arizona resident who roots for Hoka NAZ Elite athletes, it’s fun to see someone from that group get the win.
who would’ve guessed the men’s top 3?
Wow 3rd place has the Indian national record from 3KM all the way to HM
Nevermind the timing between his 2k and this half. Here is what is possible for somebody who has the inclination for longer events, while also being very fast in shorter events.

Yep.
Looks like Grant hung on until about 10 miles then couldn't respond when the moves were made.
If he & Mike take away anything from today, #1 would be 6 weeks of the kind of training they did is not quite enough. (Actually 5 weeks + 1 week taper.)
Grant was almost certainly correct when he's said, many times, he prefers 2-3 months preparation before his first race of either his indoor or outdoor seasons.
Rupp finish time ?
Nobody should be surprised by this result at all. Short build-up. I don’t think double threshold lends itself quite as well to half marathon and above. Even Almgren will do several weeks of stuff like 3-5 x 5k to prep for a half. Doing 4 x 2 miles a couple of times isn’t gunna cut it.
