Back to spring weather this weekend for the Wayne Invitational. Temps in the high 40s to low 50s.
St X boys easily won the DMR last night over Mason, 10:11.91 vs 10:22.44. Mason edged out Dublin Jerome for that runner up spot by .01. Westerville North's meet record of 10:05.32 still stands.
This weather should be good for the distance events tonight. The 3200 should be decent with Tipp's Landon Kimmel, Mason's Caden Winship, and Ansonia's Bennett Lehman squaring off. The weather won't be great for the sprints & field events but I believe that Elijah Harris of Westerville Central broke the state triple jump record last night with a 50' 1" performance.
When will the fields for the elite mile at Mason be decided? Invite predictions?

Buckeye Timing is doing the meet this year. The entry page is not up to date but will be as it gets closer to the meet next Friday.
nobody cares in this state anymore and its honestly sad. Track is on the fall off

Participation numbers are still good. Interest always waxes & wanes depending on how high the talent level is. The sport is doing fine. You're being dramatic.
Did they borderline abandoned any MileSplit coverage for this state? It feels like there’s been a huge lack of coverage lately.
They didn't borderline abandon it, they switched to Athletic.Net for meet registration and rankings.
I have no idea why, but the switch was made. It's still weird, though, as some meets have still been using Milesplit, but anything considered official is on Athletic.Net.
As of today, neither of my kids' rankings are accurate on Milesplit, even though they keep posting "articles" about rankings.
Thoughts on state contenders? What do you all think of the new super regionals for d1?
Well I can happily add that my daughter is a contender for the D2 state title in the 3200. Currently ranked #1 with a 10:33, but the competition is tight.
It's our first season not being D1, so I can't speak on what the Super-Regions have been like.
Current thoughts as a rainy districts comes to an end for us tomorrow night.

Congrats to your daughter. I won't mention her name but I think I know who you're referring to. Isn't the 9th grader from Aurora pretty solid in the 3200 also?
Today is going to be nasty, weather-wise. Much of the state is going to get over an inch of rain and the wind is going to pick up slightly this evening. The temps would be fine without the rain and hopefully it will be cooler in a few weeks for the state meet because Ohio in June can be uncomfortably hot.
Getting results for all meets this year sucks. The OHSAA just needs to have a simple centralized place to go to find any meet in any division while it is in progress, not afterwards.
for D1 girls Davidson is the team to beat. Mason, Solon, Avon, & Gahanna Lincoln would be the most likely to contend it. Maybe missing a team
your not slick, taking viagra to run on 3 legs creates an unfair advantage, #Ban the twins 😡

Yes, Aurora actually has two freshmen girls that are running very well, one focuses on the 1600 while the other is doing great at both the 16 and 32. Both products of the Cleveland Youth Running Club, I believe. Looking state-wise, the there is a Maumee girl in the 3200. Should be an exciting next couple of weeks.
We ended up lucking out rain-wise, but the wind was the enemy last night in Austintown. Took care of business and off to North Royalton; a place we've never run at before.
Coach has an interesting approach to Districts and Regionals; "run as slow as you can to advance, and save your best for the state meet".

LUKE your daughter just broke sub 10:30 tonight. Sure you are out having a couple adult beverages to celebrate. Congrats!! Looking where she is going to school, I’d like to think she could be doing better with the strong improvement. I doubt she’s going to some below average Ohio D2 college for their academics. Look into man!! Rooting for you guys to win it all.
With that being said, Coach Wymer has been recruiting super well and does seem to be building something special there. Postseason is always such an exciting time. Congrats again!
