Basically said he doesn't think anyone can beat him and reveal new details that I didn't know about before that he was injured already going into the final at worlds last year and his coaches didn't want him to run, but he did anyways.

However, from the interview, I can’t believe I’m saying this; but I think he might have actually tanked the race on purpose. He said three times that he didn’t be there and his head wasn’t in it.

Remember the race 2 mile race 2 years ago when Hocker was nowhere to be seen. Next he couldn’t even beat Gourley at Prefontaine and was only a tenth of a second ahead of Beamish and Hoare. 2 months later boom 3:27 Olympic record, one of the fastest last laps in a sub 3:30 race. Yea I’m insinuating something, but I won’t give you imbeciles the opportunity to get my comment deleted.
I’ll end with this Kerr does talk too much and should stop with some of this cornball bs. In this cutthroat sport 1 stride is what separated him from having the Olympic Gold that would have afforded him the goodwill to continue bragging. I haven't listened to the interview, but I don't think he's saying he can beat Hocker in any distance LONGER than a mile, I think he's saying he can beat Hocker over the mile distance.

He ran his greatest and fastest race in Paris and lost. And it’s still tearing him apart.
Hocker had to slow down with 100m to go when first blocked by Jakob and then when the space opened up he still had enough to get past Kerr, so there's no question who had the most in the tank that day in Paris.

i recall arch jelly coach of john walker disapproving of steve ovett hhand wavibg in the stretch, as walker was relegated from the man, to support cast, due in part to calf issues which cropped up post 76. the sheath wasnt elastic enough to allow blood flow at optimal usage, and handcuffed him in rhe stretch. the thing is walker never used that as an excuse , on operation was successful and walker was on the podium for silver bronze ..

elliot and snell realized that anything less than A plus would not work, moving forward. chickened out in a way and retired.
ryun redlined too much and was overcooked..
in the end it was walker that could handle being clear number one and being brides maid as well.

Maybe Kerr should compete more? 3-4 1500m/mile races a year isn't that impressive/exciting. If he's the best (which I'm pretty sure he has said several times), then he should have no problems facing off with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
