Rod Dixon wasn’t world class in the 800m and I can’t even find a PR for him at that distance.

Tigst Assefa represented ethiopia in the 800 before the marathon. Although there was a bigger gap before her track career and her dominating the roads, than Alex Bell's very quick transition to becoming a top long distance runner https://1921681001.id/
I got this,...
Who?
Dixon ran 1m47 800m. His times in the 70s/early 80s were all at the top end 1500m to marathon, and included 1500m Olympic medal, World XC medals, and NYC marathon win.

He’s one of my all time favourite runners. Back then he was definitely the most versatile runner and historically right up there with the all time greats.

Almgren is pretty damn impressive and can't wait to see where he goes from here
None will equal Aouita for his story, a tree raised in the middle of the desert.
He was a yang (referring to the theory of yin and yang) a one that cracked the heart of coconut.
People of his dimension are Abebe Bikila, Jess Owens, KipKeino ..
The big historic influential sportmans.
Bump for Yomif appreciation
Prior to last weekend it was unequivocally Bekele.
But right now the only case to be made for him is his ability on grass (WXC) which YK just doesn't have.Because in terms of pure range Kejelcha has simply surpassed him in the time it took him to run that marathon last weekend.
3.47.01 for the mile is superior to 3.32.35 and 1.59.41 is obviously superior to 2.01.41
3.47.01 through to 57.30 was incredible but seemed logical. To tack on a sub 2 thon is just simply incredible.
Gonna throw my support for kejelcha as well for this. Dude is insanely talented at every single distance he has ever touched

…and a 2:18.3 for 1000m. I know that’s not great, but very good for a sub 2H marathoner
