The facts are he always pulled back on the reigns and was a steady day-to-day performer. Nothing flashy at all. Even when he did something surprising like popping a 38.5 300 at the end of a long workout, it was nothing that surprising. It was just another day at the office. I would never characterize his training as "hard". I know that it conflicts with the LRC message board default dogma of "hard" training, but that's how it went down.
Perhaps you should be taking notes and learn to take it down a notch in your own training?
