Tatted people are the ultimate narcissists. They have no idea how few people want to look at pictures on their body. They waste countless $$$ to scribble all over themselves in vain. Noone cares!

If done for image. I am a military veteran and did mine for something other than image. My tattoos are done because of a time in my life in which I was battling mental issues that I was unable to battle alone, the issues almost took my life "seriously." It was done at a time when I did not know who I was any longer. The tattoos are honestly scars and a reminder of a time that I was able to get through. One day when I am old and the tattoos are a faded mess I can look at them as a reminder to not give up and too keep pushing through.
You guys think medals give some runners closure? I guess a bronze in a major marathon counts but the world championship or Olympic medal seems to give a lot of athletes some sort of big relief.
I personally have hang ups of past races and I'm glad I was able to win certain state titles in hs and conference in college. But I used to see some guys really mentally beat themselves up when they were as fast as me, but didn't get the job finished.
I feel like at the pro level it's even worse, I know one of my current pro friends looks absolutely depressed after missing multiple Olympic teams. He's really grateful for where running took him, but you can see his confidence from college is gone. The constant expectation hangs over you like a dark cloud. I can't imagine the constant flashbacks these guys have of races. And I believe the same exists for Hall, not getting the job done and not coming home with a major marathon win or Olympic/World champ medal.
A lot of shots taken here at the state of Ryan, but I'm also a middle aged guy and I'm looking at my day right now and have to wonder what it would be like to get paid to run in Ecuador / have total strangers care about my new tattoo. Ryan, if you're reading this, wanna trade lives?

Huh. Well, that means he won't get into heaven (Leviticus 19:28).
No loss, though: "Heaven" doesn't actually exist, so why not enjoy your life?
That refers to pagan rituals where they would paint themselves a certain way for the ritual. The purpose of the markings is important here, but you don't care.

Here is a perfect example. You can find the full clip on YT. The gangster rapper, the Game, who took bullets for 50 and rolled in streets of Compton. He draw on his tear tattoo on his and arm sleeves well into his 30s. The girl on the show complained he didn't even have his own wheels and had to borrow his mommy's whip.

Half arm sleeve tattoo of a mountain. Thoughts? Girls love bad boys.
What does a tattoo have to do with being 'bad' in 2026?
It is the most basic thing imaginable. An earing is more unique and rebellious ffs.
No truer words have ever been spoken.
Ohio right?
i am drunk as f&*ck

Also plenty of highly successful men and women are tattooed
I just think they look trashy
Hearing the average persons opinions on tattoo's is so bizarre. Like why do you people care so much? This isn't the 30's, we're not in Japan.

Stanford graduates don’t always turn out okay. I’d avoid going to college in California because the liberal indoctrination can have negative consequences on one’s moral clarity.
Ryan Hall's major at Stanford was sociology, not exactly the most demanding major or a major demanding a high IQ and I'm not criticizing Hall or sociology as a subject but just saying.
Furthermore, Hall seems to be a nice guy and he's done a lot of good in life like adopting those African kids but in general die hard Christians don't strike me as being the sharpest folks on earth. I would put into that category people who voluntarily adorn their bodies with tattoos.....
That's the map to Smaug's lair in the Lonely Mountains. How did he get that from Bilbo?

It’s a cry for help and Tattoo inks contain potentially toxic substances. Stupid move , especially in his 40’s
