10/15/2025 - This thread started well before anything was confirmed by Iowa State.
A volunteer moderator deleted several threads on this topic. That's not the way this should work. We believe in free expression and have reinstated them and merged them into this one thread.
As we wrote at the time, "If there is no truth to these rumors, please contact us at letsrun@letsrun.com or give us a call at 844-538-7786 and we will be happy to delete them and issue a statement."
It ends up appearing that the rumors had some teeth to them. Earlier today LetsRun.com co-founder Robert Johnson emailed head coach Jeremy Sudbury to let him know about this thread and asked if there was any truth to it.
At 3:31 pm ET, coach Sudbury emailed me the following:
Hello Robert, Thank you for reaching out directly. There were team rule violations. I have worked with our administration, and the involved athletes have been suspended and will not compete the remainder of this season. Have a nice rest of your weekend. Jeremy
Some ppl here seem to know the details but no one has mentioned the team… what university program is this about???
Last night about 9pm, there were three threads made and deleted (my moderators) on this topic. They all listed and accused this school, which is the primary reason it got deleted.
Not going to outright say it for that reason, but it’s a midwestern state school, who has done well for themselves and had a surprise top 20 finisher at nuttycombe despite racing a B team
There's no proof as of now. The only thing we have is rumors from guys on the team leaking this info out. Seems insane to make up though. Clevenger got labrum surgery last spring, but runs a min faster at nutty this year than last? Kinda starts to make sense. Also interesting he brought down 4-5 guys with him. We'll see if this post gets taken down.
Still not as dirty as Florida. And that's just fact.
Like we said, we don’t know if this is true.
However, Khan (Florida) ran the whole year in the NCAA and he only got caught went back to India. Therefore, India is better at catching dopers than the NCAA. Therefore is obviously rumours that others from this program were also dopers.
That situation alone should have rung alarm bells.
It would mean that the US track development programs has huge gaps and there are major incentives to cheat (holding scholarships, coaches getting bonuses.. ). Opportunity and incentive is a very bad combo.
Even if this current situation is not true, something should be done before a situation like this occurs.
If this situation is true, then the NCAA shouldn’t only acted to slow and:
1) something should be done immediately. If nothing is done, the world anti doping agency should get involved and there should be sanctions to the US (their development program is not safe)
2) It should be made public ASAP. Yes, if it happens (after investigation) that the guy who got caught is simply a lying psychopath, then so be it. In the short term, other teams are figuring who to run in their conference champs, HS runners are deciding which University they will run for next year and also choosing which visits to attend…. Holding on to this knowledge has ramifications now.
They're not dopers but they have African recruits - is that a problem for you dude?
Oh boy, I was on the fence about all this until verified information comes out; but if ghost1 is backing them, it’s almost a sure thing that there is trouble ahead.
