Whether she runs or not isn't the issue, it's whether or not she (or her "team") has the decency to officially withdraw and let the alternate, who was already onsite and ready to run. So, yes, people were waiting on her.
The sad thing is her “fans” will still platform her and turn a blind eye and cry foul. Fortunately most people can see it for what it is and she won’t be welcome at future events. This has to be one of the most pathetic stories over the years of self sabotage. Imagine carving out a decent living in a niche sport and just continuously piss it away based off your and your husbands actions. Just sad!
Who the hell are all these fans? I just took a look at her IG and she's still getting like 400-500 likes per post. I'm not saying that she should be publicly insulted or trolled, but ignoring her issues and continuing to "support" her just enables her further.

Let me get this straight: her response to not being notified of the outcome of her application for accomodations was to…also not notify anybody of her decision in a timely manner, and then call for more ‘collaboration’ and ‘support’ while also preventing another athlete from racing for the sake of some petty reaction?
Well, than they should withdraw Camille themselves. If she is not there, she will not be on the start line.
Camille will use that spot, to "show" everyone and that should not happen.
It is a USATF rule that the organization cannot remove a 24hr Running Team member. The runner must cede their place officially. The time cut off has now passed and the USA team will only have 5 runners competing.
If a runner is on the other side of the globe and not responding to hundreds of calls, emails, and DMs, then she has unambiguously indicated her intent not to compete in the event, and no court would find otherwise (even if it were somehow to end up in litigation). I haven't read the rules, but I seriously doubt there's some kind of magic words requirement to withdraw from a team.
