Hegseth tells Generals/Admirals US Cities should be “training ground” for US Military

The move to send US military to US cities; spending billions on DHS for huge detention centers and federal "agents" fanning out to find immigrants (and anyone else who looks like an immigrant); having the military swear allegiance to Trump and agreements to basically disappear people to countries like El Salvador where they are held in torture internment camps are all exactly what you would expect someone to do in order to take over the government and end democracy in the US. Prepositioning a loyalist M#GA military force across the country to be ready to violently suppress any dissent and whisk away any protesters and opposition figures to ICE detention facilities is how Trump will control the population when he announces that he is taking over and there will be no more democracy in the US.

But there is one big problem with all of this. Trump and those around him are not competent enough to actually be able to pull this off. While ICE and DHS has made a show of throwing elderly immigrants to the ground and sweeping children up in raids on churches, the overall deportation rates under Trump have been about half of the peak deportation rates under . . . wait for it . . . Obama. That is because Trump's DHS under ICE barbie is devoid of the career immigration officials who are competent and can actually get things done. In a combination of a Trump loyalty purge and DOGE firings, most government agencies have lost almost all of the competent career senior officials who actually know how to do things. And most have not hired replacements and are basically unstaffed at many senior positions.

Trump may end up being history's first cosplay/LARPing fascist because he is such a narcissist that he cannot open his government to people who have any competence because they won't be 100% loyal.

Then I'm doing my job well. (Which is just a saying, of course. I don't have a job.)

This proves my point. Even the fascists strongest supporters do not even understand what is going on. My post clearly states that all of the immigration crackdown and military deployment is just a pretext to have forces in place to put down any resistance to Trump ending democracy. If Trump really was doing this to get immigrants out of the US, he would have put in place a vastly ramped up infrastructure (legal and logistical) to get people deported. And he would have made political moves to get countries to cooperate with repatriation efforts. Instead, the immigration system is bottlenecked and cannot get people out of the country efficiently and in a timely manner. Trump is blowing up boats and threatening a ground attack against Venezuela instead of negotiating a deal to send back all of the migrants that fled to the US, fearing imprisonment and torture for opposing Maduro's government.
