Kipyegon to front of chase pack right before 4k. They are going to mow down the Japanese woman. 12 people in shade pack catch the Japanese leader with 700 remaining.

Hiro-knackered :o(((
Damn they've caught her at 4.3 :-(
Shelby just told us she thinks she’s in the best 5000 shape ever - sub 14:20.
Cranny told me she is tired of fishing 9-12th every year in the 10k and is excited to move down next year to the 800 and 1500 and try to run 1:58/3:55.

Loved that tactic from Tanaka, throwing in a fast lap every other lap, easy way to break down the field.
She is wasting her energy! Happy she didn´t run herself into the ground though.
Let´s see if she is fully recovered in the final.
She should have learned from Nordas´and possibly also Kerr´s and Laros´mistakes in the 1500m rounds.
Tsegay had to win it, funny as f*ck that women.
Lead pack of 8 includes Andrews- 14:56. Japanese early leader ends up 13th in 15:10.
No reward for the kamikaze Japanese.
Ngetich tying up or easing up? Looked like she was going backwards on the home straight compared to everyone else
FItzgerald was surprisingly bad.
I guess the sponsors and the crowd enjoyed it Hironaka's ridiculous tactics there.
2 Aussie's through to 5000m final. Rose Davies looked really good.
I think the suicidal Japanese running tactic has worked ONE time, when Tanaka won World Juniors. Hate to see it on the big stage.
Rooting for Josette in the final. Let's go!!!!!
Excited to see the Japanese teenager Kubo (aged 17, NR - 1:59) in heat 3 of the 800m.
Her cousin is in the national soccer team!

Not having small q spots in the 1500s seemed to make the races slower and rougher. I like first 8 each heat in the 5000.
RoJo: "Somehow an Ethiopian is way back in 9th and won’t make it."
lol.... NBC announcers truly dropped the ball on pointing out the anomaly of 8 athletes being able to beat someone from Ethiopa - ina global event. Can anyone confirm if the BBC also missed this?
Chavvy Keely now.
Never out of second gear . She must be careful not win the Gold too easily ....or tongues will start wagging again

It gives a much too big an advantage to runners in later heats.
So easy for Hodgkinson.
