What's your age, net worth, and retirement age/goals?

Ha, that is some backwards as$ thinking. I will leave my kid nothing and want nothing from my parents. If they had something to give and they hoarded it for most of my life that’d be an ashole move.

I helped cover everything so my son will graduate debt free and gave him roughly half of my liquid savings ~$100k to get him a house and be comfortable right out of school. Beyond that I’m making just enough to get through life with as little work and as much adventure as possible.

Nice. That's around where I was at your age. Are you continuing to save a lot? Do you see your income (from your job) going up or down in the near future? How much capital gains tax would you have if you liquidated the first amount mentioned? Is the 401K a Roth or non-Roth? Do you see yourself ever getting married or buying a house?

I'm 42 and I have about maybe 15-20k euro ($17.5 - 23.5k, 3-4 months salary) across several accounts + something in German state and corporate pensions that will pay me about 2k euro per month at the age of 67...in 25 years that would probably 80, I don't know. I also have over 3 million roubles ($36k) of debt in Russia and some assets there but I'm not planning to go there ever again so I'm not paying off that debt, but maybe after the war is over I can somehow arrange to recover my stuff from there, it might be up to 50k, I don't know.

Anyway I'm not planning any saving for retirement. I'm working towards German citizenship and lowering my expenses by living simpler, reducing attachment to luxury like Burgundy wine and specialty coffee. When I get both in a couple of years I'll quit my 'for money' job and do something that actually helps people, and if I can't pay my rent with that, social security will help me.

49, self-employed and fairly low income/cash liquidity for most of my life but leveraged my way into owning 3 homes, currently with around 1.1M in equity. 800k in the stock market on a good day. Not sure about retirement as (after taxes) this surely isn’t enough - hopefully these numbers will double in the next 10 years and I can down size and end the grind before SS age.

46 here, I don't expect anyone to like what I am saying and give me a bunch of thumbs down on this, because it goes against the grain. My retirement is exclusively in BTC.

I look at all these people talking 401k which is a dollar derivative...mostly. I just shake my head because many just don't see how the dollar is dying in front of our eyes. There is sooo much chatter about how things are getting more expensive these days. If you'd just stop and think, things are not getting more expensive the dollar is just losing more and more of its value as time moves forward due to the brrrrrr of the fiat printer. Which means more dollars/fiat to buy the same goods or services.

Just because you may be a millionaire in retirement in 15-20 years, doesn't mean the idea of a millionaire in fiat terms will mean what it does now. Chances are, it will not.

How do you store your BTC? Do you use cold storage? Is it in Coinbase? What do you recommend?

That is incorrect. BTC is a store of value, the dollar just happens to be the easiest form of value/work/energy to convert. It(BTC) isn't really a currency at this point...at least not a highly accepted one. Will it be? Yes I do, as the dollar starts to tank more and more. Also, due to it being divisible into sats, it could easily be one. The dollar isn't going to collapse in one dark day, it will die a slow death. Not to mention in all this, BTC is global every currency can be converted.

There are only 21 million BTC that can be mined. It's finite and did I mention it is global. Not to mention there isn't an overseeing governing body to BTC. No one can control it. Back when money was being seized during the Canadian truckers convoy. BTC was the only asset that was unseized because it was impossible. Trudeau might be the BTC salesman of the decade...maybe him and Peter Schiff.

I'm not trying to criticize, but that is the thinking that is going to keep many people without any BTC when it starts to take on a bigger role in society. I have a friend that is the exact same way, stubborn as a mule and thinks BTC is a ponzi scheme. When in fact fiat is the biggest ponzi ever to go down. They (govt elites) are literally stealing your money out the back door through inflation. This is why the rich get richer, its a scam.

I think that is a highly personal question really. You have to decide if you trust yourself with holding your keys. There are advantages to both, but leaving it on an exchange could backfire as time moves forward and could be seized potentially. Not saying that will happen by any means, but leaving it on an exchange, it is not in your control.
