The only good thing about the Trump presidency is that it's easy even for the non-politically savvy observers such as myself to understand. Recent history goes something like this:
- certifiable idiot gets re-elected President (okay, explaining that part is complicated and will, when the story ends, be the subject of at least a billion books)
- certifiable idiot implements some of his stupid ideas
-Hard-hit American industry embraces tariffs: Trump ‘threw us a lifeline’
-US business leaders back Trump's remedy for 'very sick' economy
-New study exposes how blue state's policies are causing high gas prices
-Master Negotiator: President Trump's tariffs force countries to adopt fair trade
-Video: Global tariffs should have been levied three decades ago
-Hitting the ground running: Trump is just getting started with global tariffs, Rep Byron Donalds says
I mean, I get that Fox News is pure fantasy/entertainment, but shouldn't a supposed "business" network have some grounding in reality? Just what kind of investor or business person is getting their information from here?
This is exactly what a propaganda machine is supposed to do. All the headlines have been previewed and approved by the White House before Fox can publish them. GOP is simply copying nazi and communist party strategies.
There’s no doubt that fox is a Republican establishment outlet. But don’t be a d!p sh!t and pretend that MSNBC CNN and the major networks aren’t the same thing for the Democrats.
we just saw an incident of over 20 Democrat politicians, making videos reciting the exact same script.

Trump ran on lower prices. Tariffs will increase prices. If manufacturing does come back to USA, the cost of labor is 70 times more here than in Mexico or China. How does this ever lower prices. I voted to cancel WOKE and to close the border. Instead I got the gulf of America and this? wtf?
Then like many of trumps supporters, you are a moron and somehow didn’t notice him constantly spatting about stupid economic policies that made 0 sense.

Tariffs won’t last. Trump wants these countries to make a deal. As soon as they come to the table to deal, a more favorable arrangement will be made for both parties.
People don’t get it. Trump just wants to force better trade deals. They’re acting like these tariffs are permanent.
They all do it. R or D. Was Jen Psaki now on MSNBC not Biden’s Press Secretary?
Good start. One down, only 20 to go . . .
Here’s a full list of every former Fox News and/or Fox Business alum whom Trump has hired upon his return to the White House:
Dan Bongino, Deputy Director of the FBI Tammy Bruce, State Department Spokesperson Monica Crowley, State Department Chief of Protocol Sean Duffy, Secretary of Transportation Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence Sergio Gor, Director of the Presidential Personnel Office Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism Richard Grenell, Presidential Envoy for Special Missions Kimberly Guilfoyle, Ambassador to Greece Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense Tom Homan, Border Czar Mike Huckabee, Ambassador to Israel Keith Kellogg, Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Dr. Marty Makary, Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, Surgeon General of the United States Morgan Ortagus, Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for Middle East Peace Alex Pfeiffer, White House Principal Deputy Communications Director Abigail Slater, Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice Leo Terrell, Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Michael Waltz, National Security Adviser Scott Bessent, Secretary of Treasury (has appeared on Fox Business, a subsidiary of Fox News, but was never employed)
Trump and his team are playing 3D chess while y'all are simpering about the 401Ks from your highly paid do-nothing jobs. Trump just may win a Nobel Prize after all.

At the very least, his way of going about it is atrocious and not the way balances of trade and the economy need to be handled. His tactics are inappropriate for world economies. He has unsettled trade relations all over the world and they are reeling.
This may be how a local business might employ arranging new deals, but is not how countries do business. Everyone knows this and the stock market is telling us loud and clear - we have no confidence in what he is doing and how is going about it.

The word you're looking for is unrealized loss. It is only a loss if you sell. Hold for the long- term and wait for the storm to pass.
Well, unless you were planning on retiring. Looks like you’ll need to hang on another few more years to make up for losses. Hopefully you still have a job in a few months. Current job market probably isn’t too kind on 60 somethings looking to retire. Oh, well, who could’ve predicted this mess?
A few more years? How much lower will the market go before it hits the bottom?
And when will it start to recover? Could it happen before Jan. 2029, if the Congress does not stop Trump? And assuming it starts recovering in 2029 after going down by another 20, 30 or 50%, when will it back to the 2024 level?
It took three decades for DJIA to get back to the pre-depression level. (S&P 500 did not exist in 1929.)

Trump is damaging the credibility of the US as a nation. When the credibility is in question, people will walk away instead of making any deal. New world order will form as the US is fading into the background.

I don’t spend the day obsessing about these things, but there was a chart a while ago showing how many people who work for ABC were either married to or were former Democrat operatives. It’s a lot more than just one.
but keep pretending the liberal media is objective.

This recent correction has exposed all of the amateurs. The S&P is up 100% in the last five years. Do you expect 20% a year every year?
if you don’t have the stomach for this, invest in a bond fund. It’s very simple. Every 401(k) I’ve seen has that option.

Did he overplay his hand? Time will tell. But as the largest consumer nation in the world, his position is not weak. In the end, who has more to lose by not dealing? Again, time will tell.
