My response wasn't a full history of the Middle East. I was refuting the claim that 'there is and never was such a thing as "Palestine"... that word was invented in the 1960s". If you look at the post I was responding to, I highlighted the sentence in bold.
As far as "both sides carrying out horrible acts"... one side is carrying out those horrible acts with US support (financial, military and political) and with US weapons. Maybe we should advocate not giving that level of support to a country whose system of gov't is discriminatory, and who's using our support to commit "terrible acts". They're more than capable of doing whatever they want on their own. We don't have to be a part of it.

Why did the Arabs need to accept the deal? They have 0 reasons to accept a deal they would get nothing out of.
The Jews could have had places to stay arranged in Russia. Plenty of mostly empty land. It is not perfect(not really good) but a Jewish ethnostate where other people have lived for generations is not good either.
