Some of my teammates used to have this in the playlist back in the 90s
N.W.A-100 Miles and Runnin'
Can't believe nobody has mentioned this absolute banger! It's impossible not to speed up when this kicks in - absolute belter.
"Fat Bottom Girl's". What happens when they don't run.

As an example, this couple of verses could not be more perfect for running:
"Run boy run! This world is not made for you
Run boy run! They're trying to catch you
Run boy run! Running is a victory
Run boy run! Beauty lays behind the hills
Run boy run! The sun will be guiding you
Run boy run! They're dying to stop you
Run boy run! This race is a prophecy
Run boy run!"

Fun fact: Bob Seger actually drew inspiration for Against the Wind from his experience as a cross country runner in school when he was a kid. Don’t know if that was already brought up but always found that cool.
Dark Horse George Harrison
You thought that you knew where I was and when
But it looks like they've been foolin' you again,
You thought that you'd got me all steaked out
But baby looks like I've been breaking out
I'm a dark horse
Running on a dark race course
I'm a blue moon
Since I stepped from out of the womb
I've been a cool jerk
Looking for the source
I'm a dark horse.
You thought you had got me in your grip
Baby looks like you was not so smart
And I became too slippery for you
But let me say that was nothing new.
I'm a dark horse
Running on a dark race course
I'm a blue moon
Since I picked up my first spoon
I've been a cool jerk
Looking for the source
I'm a dark horse
I thought that you knew it all along
Until you started getting me not right
Seems as if you heared a little late
But I warned you when
We both were at the starting gate
I'm a dark horse
Running on a dark race course
I'm a blue moon
Since I stepped from out of the womb
I've been a cool jerk
Cooking at the source
I'm a dark horse.

Looking for some songwriting inspiration, what are some songs about running? Best I can come up with off the dome is Running With the Devil by Van Halen (meh), Run Away With Me by Carly Rae (goated song), Run by Coin, run! by Willow
uhhhh On the Run by Pink Floyd, Rabbit Run by Eminem
There's also like a billion songs called Running Out of Time, my favorites of which are probably Paramore's and Lil Yachty's (best psych rock artist of the 2020s).
Most of these are using run as some kind of symbolism of running away, whether that be Carly Rae (literally "Run away with me"), Coin ("Don't you tell me you never though/Maybe we could run"), or Pink Floyd (lady talking in an airport as a plane crashes across your eardrums, footsteps of guy running away).
Anyone have running songs that are more about running? Or just bangers that have run in the title to add to the running playlist?
And for those of you wondering, Peach Pit (the band, not me) does not have any songs about running. Best I could find was "Run your morning bath in sea foam" in Alrighty Aphrodite (maybe the best guitar in a song in all of the 2010s).
Bonus shoutout to Runaround Sue by Dion for being a 10/10 and having run in the title but not even close to being about running.
