What's with a Hocker ? Where's is kick ? That devastating kick he was always gonna beat everybody with ? Slow race or fast race, Hocker would kick for the win.

I guess he used it all up to win the most important 1500 of the last 3 years and one of the greatest 1500 s of all time .
Discus. Sitting and kicking for the first time in how long?
Jakob must be kicking himself. He had the perfect opportunity this year to get close to GOAT status and join Coe in defending his Olympic titile.
Only three years after his previous gold because of the Tokyo delay, and at 'home' in Europe. He probably could have won any way he wanted EXCEPT trying to front run a 3:26 from the gun. He will be in his late twenties in LA, competing against the Americans on their home turf, and there will be guys like Laros, Kessler, and Myers in their prime, and no doubt others who will emerge over the next four years.

You make 27 sound super old, ha.
Also, pretty sure you're rewriting history with this line: "He probably could have won any way he wanted EXCEPT trying to front run a 3:26 from the gun."
That's definitely not true!
Also, had to lol at the person a few posts back who referred to Jakob as the "GOAT of this era"

Yep but many of us knew he didn't have a good chance of winning. The other guys timed their fitness better and ran smarter, as we predicted they would. He's never going to be 1500 GOAT.

Jakob only won because Cheruiyot ran directly in to Nuguse and almost knocked him off his feet. What was that? Should be a DQ.
Lol. All the down votes from posters that didn't even watch the race. Tim not only took Nuguse out of competition, but also the rest of the field at a critical point of the race. After that Jakob had a pretty easy win. This race really doesn't say anything about Jakob's kick or fitness. Just that given a big enough head start he can win.

Jakobs aim is to become the overall GOAT, not just the 1500 GOAT. An Olympic gold, two Worlds silvers and 3:26 PB in his worst event is plenty enough to be on track to become the overall GOAT.
Nice to see🥔Man take 2nd. The dude is always a threat.
This is an awesome era of 1500m running. We have what might be called the Big 4 -- Jakob, Cole, Yared, Kerr -- trading wins in fast races. 3:30 nowadays is "tactical pace" lol.

I'd rather see him run the 5k and 10k at LA.
I'd rather see him run Steeplechase and 10k in LA, and complete 1500 to 10000 Olympic gold collection. Than in Brisbane '32, Jakob would enjoy his Olympic marathon. (In which case it doesn't even matter if he wins or finishes 17th, we'll all enjoy watching the greatest athletic star of all time run an Olympic marathon).
