Crouser is the world record holder. That means he’s thrown farther than everyone. We all know that.
That isn't the point - and you know it. He is a supposedly clean athlete outstripping the most doped athletes in the sport. How doped? The women's world record, set by an E German 44 years ago (!), still stands. But this is the sport - and has long been so.

What does an East German woman from 44 years ago have to do with Ryan Crouser? Do you not expect him to be able to throw farther than a woman?
I know Crouser comes from a family of accomplished throwers. His grandfather (who taught Ryan how to throw when he was a kid), his father, uncles, and cousins were successful throwers. He was born and raised to throw.
I know Crouser has been breaking records since he was a kid, and I know he won the gold medal at the 2009 world U18 championships. I know he won 4 NCAA championships.
I know Crouser innovated a new throwing technique.
Please try to make a well-reasoned persuasive argument sometime rather than posting fly-by assertions or innuendoes ad nauseam. Then maybe you won't be quite so detested here.
Just for the record (so to speak), Crouser has thrown further than the best doped E Bloc athletes of the past. To put that in perspective, the women's world record is still held by an E German, set back in 1980.
The women's World record was set in 1987 by an Soviet athlete.
Wrong fact from Armstrong, like on most occasions.
In his reply he will not just agree that he was wrong, he will change the subject. He always does.

I know Crouser is the shot put GOAT.
Tell me something I don’t know.
You miss the point. Of course he isn't competing against women. But women have been unable to beat a doped mark set virtually 4 decades ago. Crouser, meanwhile, easily surpasses the best doped male athletes in the sport, who were also in the E Bloc. So how does a clean athlete do that, when women obviously can't in their competition?

Wikipedia was incorrect but how much difference does it make to say the women's world record was set in the '80's by a Soviet athlete? It simply shows that in the women's event a doped record can't be surpassed by any athlete today, let alone a clean one. Crouser, however, destroys the doped male records - and you lot think he will be clean.

The world record holder before Crouser was an American, Randy Barnes. American men have dominated the shot put for generations. Crouser is the latest American man to dominate, and he’s the best of all.
As I said, he was born and raised to throw, and he’s been breaking records since he was a kid. If anyone has the pedigree and track record to be a credible record holder, it’s him.

Wikipedia? You don't know who holds the SP WR?
Women's shot put since many years is very weak, men's shot put since a few years is extremely high livel.
You explain everything by one word: doping.
Many records: doping.
Long standing record: doping.
Long standing record finally broken: doping.
Many athletes break a record: doping.
One athlete stands out: doping.
The level of your thinking really is astonishing. 5th grade?
Crouser is an exceptional athlete. You and me, we don't know if he is doping. Without a positive test, we will never know.

If the men's event is "stronger" then that obviously includes the doped E Bloc athletes who once owned the records. So how is it that clean Americans are better than strong but doped E Bloc record-holders? (But only in the men's event. Valerie Adams was a great champion but couldn't compete with doped records.)

All record holders can be described in the same way. They are but a fraction of the best athletes in the planet. And many of them have doped - and I would say all of them dope today. A clean athlete can't beat an athlete of near equal ability who dopes. If it were so, doping would be ineffective. It clearly isn't.

Men's SP currently is extremely high level, women's SP since many years is relatively low level. For 31 years, the men's WR was held by an US-American.
Is Crouser (and the rest of the current 22m+ throwers) doping? Maybe. We don't know.
Valerie Adams was the best for a long period, she must have been doped.

If you believe all record holders today are doping, why bother commenting on it when doping isn’t the subject of the thread? You could just create one thread that says you believe all record holders are doping. Wouldn’t that be more efficient than going to every thread about a record breaker and derailing each thread by insinuating that person is doping?
You believe that Crouser is doping, you believe the guy whose record he broke was doping, and you believe the record holder before that was doping too. So even *if* you’re correct about every record holder doping, it’s a moot point. Crouser’s records are still exceptional.
