I took note when Emily Mackay was interviewed on NBC after the first round and her first answer was like, “First off, I’m officially an Olympian now, and I’m so thrilled to be here.” If anything says she peaked physically and mentally for the Olympic Trials, it’s that.
I feel pretty good about my podium picks: 1. Kipyegon 2. Tsegay 3. Hull. Hiltz and ESP both looking pretty good to nab a medal though. I think Tsegay shut it down in the last 100m but hard to have great confidence in her right now.
