But I prefer to adopt a stance of no one deserves anything. You go out there and win your event and best of luck to you. The best man or woman wins...

Sydney haters always give off such loser energy to me. Super professional and respectful, but doesn't smile all the time, so the losers get all bothered by her. Loser energy.

Actively cheering for Lindsey Horan and the women's soccer team to fail. Thought moving on from the previous crop of players would have changed the attitude of the team Horan's comments about American soccer fans not being smart really bothered me. I have gone to games. I have supported this team. My daughter is a big big fan. So what little support they have Horan crapped all over it. I hope she fails.

I'd be pretty happy seeing Femke win. I'm more likely to root for an athlete when I see them race frequently, and I've seen Femke consistently at diamond leagues, world champs, euros, and indoors. Sydney is very likely to win, but I wouldn't be sad to see Femke take it.

It's interesting to me that people dislike both SCR and Sydney. Their personalities seem pertty much the opposite. SCR loves attention and putting on a show and Sydney seems to hate it.

First time I've ever seen an indication of a sense of humor from you. You're ordinarily so grim.

I always cheer against USA basketball men's and women's

Women's soccer due to their entitled idiocy.

I pull for anyone against the USA in these stupid made up sports like beach volleyball, skate boarding, break dancing.

Not hyper-patriotic but I pull for everyone with a USA on their uniform. That includes every athlete and team bashed here thus far. So yes, I'll be rooting for Biles, Richardson,
McLaughlin, Hiltz, St.Pierre, Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball and Men's Basketball.

A few others besides USA athletes I'll pull for because I enjoy watching them run, Kerr, Bol and Kipchoge but wouldn't mind if they ran 2nd to a USA athlete.

I don't understand the Sydney haters. There literally isn't a better role model for anyone in our society. Works incredibly hard. Focused. Over the top humble. These are incredible attributes for her level of success. She has never been involved in any kind of drama. She certainly isn't the only member of team USA like this, but she is probably the most generational track athlete at the games. People should love her. If you can't behind that, then it's a 'you' issue.

Why do you think that is noteworthy? We all have favorites for different reasons and dislikes for various reasons. Although I generally cheer for the American teams at the Olympics, there could be circumstances when I would choose differently. And I'm much more flexible with individual events such as cycling, track, Marathon, and various Winter Oly events.
