I respectfully disagree. Unregistered posting adds honest opinions, as well as an element of fun and unpredictability to the site. Yeah, it also means some political opinions that you probably disapprove of, and I probably would as well. What is it? That’s life in the Internet age. You won’t find a message board on the Internet that is an overrun with partisan disagreements and arguments. Those will never go away on this site, unless it is so heavily moderated as to remove anything, not related to triple threshold, and Valby mania.
Nah. What it adds is unadulterated garbage, 24/7. It makes the site damn near un-usable for actual human beings --and of course it's the reason every pro runner (or damn near) gave up on posting here a long time ago. (Which is one of the saddest consequences of the moronic policy to allow this unadulterated 24/7 garbage --under the cover of some utterly ridiculous and fraudulent 'free-speech' crap that so many web-sites use to try and dress up their cheap propagation of insane right-wing garbage and childish insult-mongering for profit.)
If the JoBros are serious about *FINALLY* actually doing something about it after years of being begged to do so by the sane folks who look at their site, that'll be a genuine Christmas miracle.

I doubt pros will come here under true name, even if the moderators eliminate every last thread not directly linked to distance running, and every post not fawning towards pros. Professionals, and high status people in general, value brand management above everything else. I really doubt that any professional runner would allow himself to interact, under true name, with random people in an uncontrolled environment. The name of the game these days is to control every interaction in order to build a brand. That means a professional social media presence, not responding to random tweets, and avoiding Ask Me Anything on LRC.
In other words, I think we’re blaming trolls on LRC for something that would have happened anyway.
To try and combat banned posters from using VPNs to post their crap we tried to implement a new filter today but it isn’t working properly. So for now please post using a registered name if you want to post
Well I’ll be. my comments on the brother anonymously trolling in the copper teare post caused them to form a predictably boomer opinion on vpn usage? On a site stuck in 2006 dependent on barely regulated, unregistered volume for revenue.
I’m second hand embarrassed that the inability to creep on ip location was the deal breaker, and that it took until 2023 to realize lrc had lost that ability.
Don’t let any of the former take away from the fact that a running industry with lrc is still better off than a running industry without it, and for that we do thank you and are grateful.
Very good to block unregstered users as over 90% of all disgusting , hateful comments are comming from that persons. They feel no responsibility and have no respect.
