Her ‘kick’ is more than adequate and has been called out by the ‘experts’ that call it out, repeatedly. Anyone that has followed her many wins has witnessed the extra gear in the final 800m where she pulls away from talented competition. The only thing still missing is that extra gear in the final 100m during races where competition hangs in with her close to the final 50-100m. When she develops that piece of the puzzle she’ll have all the necessary arrows in the quiver of mature elite racers. As previously stated she and her coaches know it and it explains her most recent race tactics. It didn’t work out due to factors we still don’t exactly know (heat, illness, etc.) but it just wasn’t her day. She’ll bounce back. Count on it…
