How to use Google translate to view youtube video in foreign language?

    Don't go to the Google translate website. Just open the Youtube video and use the settings at the bottom. If you open a Youtube video... along the bottom of the video... do you not have play / next / various icons / settings icon (cog) / screen size options? IDK. It could be different for me. Maybe your settings are elsewhere. The shortcut could be different.

    I'm sure the settings will be somewhere, but the vid might not have an English translation. If it does not, you can try auto translate. I thought the auto-generated option was really widely available but maybe not.

    TBH it is not likely to be very good at all so I'm not sure why I'm saying all of this, apart from I was trying to answer the original question! Short answer: I would not want to use Google translate for this but I would like to see what it 'says'.

    Unfortunately, Google Translate does not support automatic translation of YouTube videos. When you enter the link of a YouTube video into Google Translate, it will only translate the text associated with the video, but the video itself will not be translated or played with subtitles in another language.

    If you want to watch a YouTube video in a foreign language with English subtitles, you can view English subtitles by clicking the settings icon (represented by a cogwheel) to access the video settings , in the settings menu, click "Subtitles/CC" (Closed Captions) to display the subtitle options. Or either use an external from Youtube which will allow you to translate your video by displaying the subtitles in English or by translating the voice of the video into another voice in English.

    Does anyone know if Whisper has Ukrainian -> English?

    I shouldn't really say this but it might be an easier way of doing it.

    Mine does. I often put it on to see the ridiculous sh!t it comes up with. The subs outside of auto-translate are obviously a lot better.
