42.195 (this should not exist, 'marathon' should be 50K)
pare things down to a minimum one event per general definition of a runner no new events
200 800 3000
bonus structure: all finising runners times averaged together for each event times for each event added up total group payout (each finisher) paid based on time performance use the world athletics scoring tables to determine performance example meet: avg 200 = 20.2, avg 800 = 1:45.8, avg 3000 = 7:34 would payout better than slower avg times
this incentivizes everyone to run like hell on the one hand you know you'll make more money and you don't want to let everyone down otherwise nobody will want you to be invited again
the very fastest runners would get paid more to race one another they would not be dodging one another
for the record i'd hate to only see 3 running events in track
World and Oly Schedule should be
100
110H
400
800
Mile
5k Cross-country with 24" straw hurdles every 800 meters. 4 runners per country, 3 score.
Marathon
Shot Put
Jump a Thon- 1 athlete per country. Each athlete gets 2 jumps in LJ, TJ, and HJ. Events are held simultaneously with rotating flights. Points scored by current IAAF table with winner going to highest combined total.
Pole Vault- 1 Participant per country- 5 total attempts
Decathlon-1 participant per Country. 2 attempts for each field event
Let's just hope Joe or Woody can crack 27 otherwise, America just becomes a laughing stock at another Olympic. Granted even if they broke 27, Their chances of medaling are about as good as Josh Kerr breaking Hicham El Guerrouj's WR. Basically 0.
How does any American apart from Grant Fisher (big maybe) expect to medal with an already tough 10K field
Joshua Cheptegei (26:11)
Rhonex Kipruto (26:24)
Jacob Kiplimo (26:33.93)
Mo Ahmed (26:34.14)
Selemon Barega (26:44.73)
Tadese Worku (26:45.91)
Berihu Aregawi (26:46.13)
Jakob Ingebrigtsen (12:48.45 5K) — He hasn't competed but has mentioned his desire to medal in 3 events like Emil Z.
Point is, Woody should've been in 26:40-26:50 10K Shape if he expects finish his career with a Medal, same with Klecker.
But as always, Team USA only does time trials rather than learn how to have efficient Race tactics

One of the better CC episodes if not the best they had. It was nice to hear Beamish get a word in for once.
Agreed with most points being made and especially that agents need to be fully removed from the start list selection processes. In what sport do agents have a say in who gets playing time and who doesn’t? In fact, while we’re at it, throw the agents out of the athlete warm up areas and meet hotel lobbies where most of them are drunk and just looking for shoe execs to smooze with.

The guy who finished 4th last time around is a "big maybe" - get a clue
