I dont know how to create the imgr link but on the livestream if you pause when Tsegay is completely over the line, the Seiko clock on the inside of the track clearly shows her under the WR and the graphic on the screen showed her even further under the WR
Similar thing for Hodgkinson's 800 British Record, she passed definitely in 1:56 but the clock kept running..
Hodgekinson looked very good 1:57.18. Yarego got in her way for 1st 1 1/2 lap probably cost her a tenth or two.
It's a shame Yarego was in the race. Starting the way she did tanked her own race and cost Hodgkinson a 1:56. Hodgkinson worked too hard to go around Yarego before 400, she was on the outside of Lane 1 yet again, and was overtaking on the corner. Yarego has every right to run however she likes, it's just a shame that it means we're denied something a little special from Hodgkinson.
Kerr went for it but did not have it on last lap as 4 passed him. 3:34.9 for him I think
Credit to Kerr for going for it. The race is largely inconsequential for him so I was happy to see him take a risk - I think he had sub-3:30 in the back of his mind. Even more credit to Gourley for smashing it and really stepping up a level this season. The UK 1500 team will be the hardest to make in the world, they could definitely put four men into the World final this year

Agreed. And Yarego was even a late addition, not present in the first start lists made public.
But as this was a race counting towards the overall indoor tour results, I guess they couldn't just treat it as a record attempt.
