A podium sweep is a tall order. I hope they at least make the race a thrilling one--maybe one teammate to pace Chmiel & two other podium hopefuls and two other "sacrificial" runners to throw in surges and hold a sub-33 pace for as long as possible. But as much as I love a wild and entertaining 10K, Henes probably has a more sensible plan!
With the crappy weather forecast (hot & rainy), things could be shaping up nicely for Reinhart to grind her way to a surprise win. The 10K seems to be her jam (she ran several road 10ks in HS) and she should look to finish strong in the final home meet of her college career. If NC State attempts the team tactics noted above, I doubt Reinhart will take the bait. As for Ryan...no tellin'.
This thread should be called "NC State Women's distance at ACCs" thread
i mean what does this site talk about in acc other than nc state?? nuguse has his own thread so ... ??? i mean im sorry but it is what it is ... but everyone is free to post anything about any events, no ones stopping them
The common theme for NC State is to have the top runners step down in distance pre NCAA. Chmiel, with no qualifying time yet in any event will be an exception IF she runs. Almost everybody gets entered into the 5000. I'd be surprised to see, but with ~2 hours between the 1500 and 5000 there is time, but less so for the 800 (Bush). No doubt some of those 5000 entries will DNS. Lauren Ryan (10000), Nicole Fegans (5000) are major obstacles to a sweep, and is Reinhart of Duke (both events).
theres more nc state runners in the 10000m than the 5000m
they are actually not stepping down any distance, rather they are upping
starliper was running 1500s but now shes running the 5000m
holt, howlett, clairmonte, zachgo, steelman .. all of them were only running 5000m this season but now they are entered in the 10000m ..im so confused about the recently recovered injured runners being entered at a 10k
ND men will put up more impressive numbers than the NC State women.
If you're referring to actual times, I would hope so because they are men. On an equal basis, comparing men to men & women to women, I doubt it - particularly once out they are out of the region. I would wager that the NC State women will finish higher at the NCAA Championships than the ND men. ND men will get eaten alive.
so that is why shes entered in the 5000m? coach henes think she cannot ran under 4:20 in the 1500m ??
coz she still has chance to better her 4:23 .. two chances to get qualifying time.. in the prelims and finals ... while for the 5000m she only got one chance

They must think 16:05 more likely than 4:17.5 (which could likely be what it would take for 1500). They see her workouts. I for one do not. For 16:05 she might just latch herself on to Quarzo. 16:05 is has a shot at scoring as well.
