What are you stating? Grenada, 1983, Afghanistan, 2002, Iraq, 2003, Nicaragua, circa 1985, Panama, circa 1989, Libya, 2012. Also read Dirty Wars by Jeremy Scahill, 2013.
Did those countries change hands as sovereign nations? or only Georgia, Crimea and shortly Ukraine??
Do you really want this debate? Do we need to have a body count discussion? You were wrong. If we start a body count discussion you will look foolish. Just admit your post was not accurate. Doubling down is not helping. Post your body count total from Georgia and Crimea then I will respond with Korea, Viet Nam ... .
Russia won’t invade that is crystal clear. They don’t want Ukraine to join NATO and then try and take back Crimea which WOULD force Russias hand in going to war with all of NATO countries so their whole purpose is to prevent war.
Biden keeps sounding the alarm though, using fear based rhetoric and talking of a certain, imminent invasion. The USA just looks like fools in all this when nothing happens despite highly specific predictions.
Bet Biden is just helping Pelosi short the market.
This is some wild thinking. Ukraine, from what I can tell, has made no efforts to take back Crimea. Glad you are admitting the Russia had already invaded Ukraine (and Georgia).
Still not sure how Ukraine joining a defensive only alliance is provoking Russia.
There are hundreds of thousands of Russian troops on the Ukraine border. Seems like that is a Russian decision.
I think your handle is a lie. Putin is ruling over a country rich with natural resources and has an educated class yet is poor. He wants his legacy to be making Russia important again. It's economy would be in even worse shape if Merkle had not overreacted and shut down its nuclear power plants.
Classic rhetoric: one side (of our side) claims the other side is causing a crisis that the "real other side" (Russia) has been at for years. The opposite number (Right) of "our" (currently indeterminate) side, *the Biden administration (Left) opponents* are undercutting the credibility of both of our sides thus enhancing the power of the real "other side." It would be so much easier to explain if we just had one side.
We’re watching this in real time, you can’t make it up. To be clear, I’m not a Russia sympathizer, I just find lying by our media and fear mongering by our commander in chief to be despicable.

That is a stupid take on the situation. The Russian proxies already started tactics to pretend that the separatist areas are under attack. And if Putin doesn't want war, what is the purpose of all the troops at the border? And the US and its allies have already said that they won't put boots on the ground in Ukraine. So if there is war, Vlad is starting it.
Ukraine cannot choose to be in NATO, the NATO countries would have to unanimously vote them in, and several have said that they won't do that. So Vlad is operating on a strawman premise.

Yeah, OP's statements are absurd. If Russia doesn't want to invade, then the solution is simple... don't invade. To say the US is goading Russia into doing it is ridiculous. We shall see what happens. We'll see where all those Russian tanks stack up along the Ukraine border end up going. What happens is clearly up to Putin.

He wants the US to unequivocally state that Ukraine will be denied NATO membership. We refuse to do that. He also doesn't want US arms on his border. We would similarly protest Russia occupying bases and building missile defense in Mexico.
Vlad did not feel the need to do anything during the Trump administration because Trump wasn't breathlessly trying to escalate conflict and marshalling troops under the guise of European "peace."
I love how Putin has been in power for 22 years, but only NOW is he wanting to "invade Ukraine". Logic would dictate that since Trump was his puppet, he would have done when Trump was in office.

But, logic to a 'liberal' is like oil to water.
Nice try, but you must have forgotten about Crimea 8 years ago.

Or Georgia. Or just oblivious on Putin’s repeated and public statements denying Ukranian cultural autonomy.

Yes, I’m quoting myself because too many numbskulls are talking about Russia surrounding Ukraine.
This above is the exact reason that Putin has stated for his actions. Watch his speech after a 6 hour meeting with Macron. Zelensky committed to taking back Crimea by this year which has led to Russias actions. Of course Western Media makes no mention of this.
Do you all really believe that if Putin wanted to invade Ukraine he’d do it by a slow, 6 month long build up of troops along the border? No, he’s trying to get the worlds attention and it worked. We’re playing right into his hands.
I do regret making this a partisan issue as I’m truly bi-partisan. I just happen to think Bidens handling of this is horrendous. Are you all really ok with him saying things like “they’re going to invade Wednesday” and then it not happening?
Putin is doing a great job of making the US look like The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Our credibility takes a hit every day an invasion doesn't happen.

The western border of Ukraine is not Putin's border. We haven't put troops on his border.
And why should the US agree to not consider an application for NATO membership from a sovereign nation? It is a pretense by Putin that it is even an issue now, because several NATO countries have said that they wouldn't vote for it. Why extract a promise from Biden that could be revoked by a future administration?

It sounds like you're arguing that preventing a war now isn't worth it because one could hypothetically happen in the future. Maybe you should join Biden's war cabinet.

You do know the US overthrew the elected govt of Ukraine in 2014?
And, in response, Crimea elected to go with Russia?
US and NATO really do not care about the Ukraine - they are tool towards and end.
There is no downside for Biden here.
Russia engages militarily, Biden runs around saying "See, I was right.... told you so!" The threat of an a rampaging Commie Boogeyman on Europe's doorstep then justifies all manner of spending and actions.
Russia does not engage militarily, Biden touts it as a big personal win... "See, Russia was so scared of my military deployments, aid, and sanction threats, they backed down!"
There’s no “bear” to poke lol. Get real
That is no logical argument nor a presentation of facts.
aside from “poking the bear” bring a common phrase for antagonism, usual symbology for Rusdia is a bear
if the reply is meant as a confident boast that Russia is of no consequential threat, tell that to Ukraine surrounded with an overwhelming, well-armed force of roughly 200K
by any measure their military is top 5 - they have thousands of nukes. For non strategic Nukes, more than 10x the US stock pile.
