I am a big Salomon fan and think this is awesome news. Hoping to see him run some trail races. Would be cool to see what a guy with his speed could do on the trails.

No idea if this is true, but if it is, I sadly wouldn't be surprised. There is so little money in this sport. The 2:25 marathon guys post here asking where the sponsor genie is while lots of sub 2:15 guys go into each race not knowing if it will be their last because trying to train at a high level while making poverty wages is wearing down on them.

That doesn't seem correct. Seidel is a great social media presence, even Droddy is pretty good on Twitter compared to people like Ward, Thweatt, and Huddle. Looks more like a decision to spend less on the pro side of the business.

On another note: how fast could Droddy have run at the Marathon Project if he'd had proper racing shoes instead of the Endorphin Pro? If he'd known he was getting dropped anyway, he could have ran in Next% and be a 2:07-2:08 guy by now

Good thing he's a 2:09 guy & has run the 10th fastest time in the marathon for Americans. He's still very much so a guy that competes for top American honors at big races. There's a market for that. Guy has a huge following too.

He will be crapping on Salomon in a couple years when they see no value in him just like he did with Saucony and Brooks and every other relationship that he has had.

We need more Noah’s on the pro scene. He’s relatable to the average person. The common person cannot relate to a pro runner napping and staying secluded except for workouts. Someone working and being real is what makes it interesting. The only ‘pro’ in running should be free gear and race stipends. Go back to the old days where runners worked and were approachable to everyday folks.

The napping and staying secluded is exactly what Droddy did until recently. Maybe add posting on Twitter. The job is a very recent development. He is the king of entitled whining.

Thank you for this, OP. It’s a sort of revival of an all-time classic LR thread.

He is no 2:09 guy now. I have seen him in a couple of Sweat Elite videos. This guy is US sub elite at best now.
