Jerry has had more runners test positive for PED's than Alberto Salazar has.

His runners failed miserably, for the most part, in Tokyo.

I think she she have raced for gold. Not just a medal. She was beaten by someone with less experience and slower times bc she couldn’t hold on. Still very happy for her to get silver I just don’t think her ambition was big enough

You can’t just blame jerry. Americans have not looked good in Tokyo in general. Heat, covid etc. team boss also hasn’t done well given expectations

Who was the other Schumacher athlete to test positive? By my count they're 1-1 (everyone forgets Salazar was coaching Decker when she got busted for testosterone).

Some facts:

Number of Americans who have finished higher than 5th in the 10K since Billy Mills: 1--Rupp's silver in '12. Shorter took 5th also in '72, when there was almost zero African presence. Rupp took 13th in '08 when he was a year or two younger than Fisher, and 5th in '16 when he was still in his prime. So Fisher = the 2nd best American finish in 57 years, tied with Rupp and Shorter.

Also, Centrowitz first medaled in Daegu in 2011. How many 1500m runners have medaled in global competitions 11 years apart? I don't think anyone has. Coe's first big year was '78 and didn't make the British team in '88. Morceli won his first WC in 1991 and came last in the semis in his final Olympics in 2000. El Guerrouj took Silver for his first medal in 1995, and was done after his gold in 2004. Centrowitz was healthy this year, but was injured a lot the previous three years. Takes a toll in late career.

DeBues-Stafford crushed it.

Kincaid in the finals of 2 events is also crushing it.

And there are two silver medals, both the result of great racing.

nah, there is a fair point in here and it's that she ran out of gas on the last lap. so I don't think you can say A+, but obviously was overall a great strategy for her and a demonstration of amazing fitness.

If Centro’s best event going forward is not 1500m, it would be 5000m. Someone who has run 1:44 has a shortfall of slow-twitch muscles needed for the 10000. He would crash and burn if he ever tried the marathon.
