So, using your homophobic logic:
All world class runners are gay or trolling for gays.
It's better to look cool and straight than go fast.
Hmmm...that leads me to believe that:
All basketball players and teenaged boys wear baggy shorts / pants to hide weapons and crack.
I might also add that young guys that let their pants sag to allow view of their boxers are, in fact, advertising for gay love and that football is based on homoerotica since the uniforms feature skin tight shiny pants, shoulder pads that enhance the upper body, cups that appear to be large cod pieces and the players like to pat each other's rumps after each play.
Thanks, What?. It's all so clear now.
Wow, Portland Runner, you're certainly taking some liberties with what I said. I didn't say anything about basketball players hiding weapons and crack in their baggy shorts, never touched on the football uniform, and definitely never said that all world class runners are gay or "trolling for gays".
There's a difference between looking gay and being gay. Just because you wear gay-looking shorts does not make you gay. I never once said that.
Someone had it right when they said that it's simply that fashion that has changed. Short shorts on men used to be macho? Cool, more power to those guys back then.
But while you're all scratching your heads trying to figure out why short shorts have gone out of style, I am telling you the answer. They look gay. What is so homophobic about stating that fact?
There is a societal stigma attached to homosexuality. Short shorts look homosexual. Therefore, there is a societal stigma attached to short shorts. That's why they are not popular.
