The secret to getting fast over distance is to run your easy runs easy, but as fast as you can as long as it's still easy! Then it's a matter of adaptation to better form, technique and so forth, not the mistaken belief that more effort will get you anywhere. You can't build your max effort from 100% to 200%.
Yes he did, the way he ran it (watch the video). Unfair for the certification guys to measure it AFTER he runs 2:08:13. Then Bill & Grete never ran the times that they did. Crappy certification guys with excuses.
