I have to say, I am actually surprised that more than half of Rs think the guilty verdict was right.
https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1386339603750301698?s=21I'm not at all surprised. Most Rs are decent folks.
I just find it sad that 46% think Chauvin was innocent. I have yet to hear even the most strained, crazy argument for reasonable doubt. It was cold-blooded murder and it's impossible to see it any other way.
Yet 46% of Republicans think George Floyd's murder was justified.
When a compliment using "most" hangs on 4%, it's a pretty weak compliment.

That's it.
It's shame because that chunk of people will keep the virus going and mutating.
And they will hold the economy back form it's full potential and keep healthcare costs up.
True. It's a shame that the majority of them are being duped by charlatans who just want to take their money. It's going to be hard to get money from the flock if they are either dead or have huge medical bills though.

And don't get me wrong, PART of me agrees with this "decent folks" premise. But another significant part of me wonders how in the hell all those decent folks couldn't see through Trump/Trumpism in a mere 4 or 5 years? And how they teach their children not to lie while supporting the ultimate liar, and....decency, and, and, and.......

all they hear from people they respect is that the Democratic Party will tear apart American and turn it into an anti-white socialist nation. it's absurd, but low education, low information believe it. And there is a very small leap from believing that to saying 'well Trump isn't a saint but he is what we need to save our nation and our race.'
The low information of trumpists is shocking and always underestimated by Dems.
The sorta good news is that almost all trumpers are patriots per their definition - they want the best for the nation. So a good leader could conceivably co-opt them into being good people again by appeaking to their patriotism.
Biden's not able to do that.

Flagpole - we have had some donnybrooks here but a fair amount of your posts here are fairly well reasoned. Nice job on that.
ALL of my posts at all times going back to the dawn of history are well-reasoned.

Lazy guy question (I've been meaning to answer myself): Roughly how many younger people are already in the hole? In other words, do the demographics of Trump voters in 2020 give us any hope that Trumpism will notably suffer in the coming years/decades because his supporters are heavily older and will die soonish? Or, do we ALSO have plenty of unethical/badly misguided 20 and 30 and 40-somethings?
This is from Pew Research Center on 2018 Midterm election. (They won't release the 2020 data until next year.)
18-29: D 72%, R 23%. (+49 D)
30-49: D 59% R 38%. (+21 D)
50-64: D 50% R 48%. (+2 D)
65+: D: 46% R 52%. (+6 R)
In comparison, in 2016 Presidential election.
18-29: Clinton 58%, Trump 28%. (+30 C)
30-49: C 51%, T 40%. (+11 C)
50-64: C 45%, T 51%. (+6 T)
65+: C 44%, T 53%. (+9 T)
The older people have higher turnouts, which makes the total much closer to what appears from this breakdown.

As the late RFH used to say:
"Mueller never, Clownpole forever"
need immigrants
need immigrants
need immigrants
need immigrants
need immigrants
need immigrants
Over the past decade, the United States population grew at the slowest rate since the 1930s, the Census Bureau reported on Monday, a remarkable slackening that was driven by a leveling off of immigration and a declining birthrate.
Yes, we need more people that will be paying into social security in 20-30 years to fund most of who post here.
this will probably be the best news of the year or even decade.
Stunner. World-changing.

Best?!?
More like WORST news in a decade! Just more Bill Gates controlling the world. Everything is being put into place. Won't be long before . . .
Biden, Harris, Walsh, team up to create a labor task force to help workers join unions. For anybody who doesn't understand unions because of bad stereotypes paid for by the rich, this is a very good thing.
Current CEO to worker pay is 320:1. When were things more equal? When union density was at its highest. American unionization numbers are low by design. Corporations spend boatloads of money to convince workers they don't need a union when they start organizing drives. Union elections are rigged. Employers can break the law with very few consequences. It's in an employers interest to break the law because an election would just get re-run a lot of the time and workers might be too intimidated to file again.
A union simply means letting workers negotiate 50/50 with employers. America's largest employers are corporations who pay starvation wages. A path for workers to negotiate pay increases would go a long way in rebuilding an economy that works for everyone.
Wages haven't moved with profits, productivity, or expenses. People who are close to retiring now paid a lower proportion of income on food, rent, college, etc. The difference? More of them were unionized. It's funny that some people from that generation think younger folks simply aren't making good financial choices when they should be advocating everyone gets the same fair shake that they might have had.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the quality of the leader... the only question is whether FOX and the popular right wing rags/radio is supportive. Most of the time, ANY dem will be made to look like Armagedom coming to finish white america. Obama was extra bad because he was black and Biden also awful because he destroyed their Jesus.

Biden sends trump lovers home devastated. They can’t stand prosperity because it’s coming from the one who mangled their orange god.

Yeah - let me know how great the teacher's unions are doing during the pandemic . It has been a year and STILL they have no interest in bringing back the teachers to do what they are paid to do. Just a shame how terrible the teacher's unions are.
Yup, I hope all those POS are cancelled to infinity
