The administration had nothing to do with the budget cuts. Our numbskull governor went to war with public education. He cut teacher pensions and greatly reduced higher education funding. Kentucky and Louisville have the funds to not worry about it. The rest of the state schools cut funding and/or sports. WKU had a 50% cut to xc and tracks operating budget. They cut tennis at EKU and Morehead state. Not sure how it affected Murray state. WKU had a strong xc history but forces higher than the administration led to this. We had teacher strikes and all sorts of drama. In the end the Olympic sports suffered the most.
Keep defending the admin. I don’t remember hearing of any other sports at this school taking a 50% cut. Seems to me that other sports could have taken a hit to lessen the blow to Jenkins budget. Just looks like the AD wanted to get rid of him and this was how he was gonna do it.
The governor didn’t call this school and say you have to cut the track budget.........
April Smith from Fresno: Lets see, she has a big mouth and tells everyone that she knows everything about track and field. If she is so good why wouldn't Fresno State even consider her? Hmmmm. In a coaches meeting she starts telling everyone about the 10,000 meter race. Only had some of the best distance coaches in the country in the room and she basically craps on them. She is obnoxious and would have a difficult time at Stanford with the type of students-athletes that they get. But the positive news is that the folks in the MWC don't have to put up with her arrogance any longer.

She was brought up a month ago for the head job at Fresno and they were joking then.
And, If she is indeed hired at Stanford, then I will hang on every word she says at convention as she clearly gained immense knowledge because the color of her hat and shirt changed.

I would imagine that on-campus interviews at Stanford have to be happening at this point. Somebody on campus has had to have seen someone. JJ is probably also frantically trying to find a place to live that he can afford.
Just because she didn’t get the Fresno job doesn’t mean she is not qualified. April is obviously successful. Maybe she’s not the right personality for Stanford. That doesn’t mean she’s not qualified.

You lost validity with that last sentence. If you knew anything about Stanford you would know that Stanford provides housing for all head coaches/directors.
That makes no sense. I’m not even saying anything that requires validation. I’m just saying that someone has to know something. Not everyone would know the ins and outs of working at Stanford. Doesn’t diminish the line of thought.
