The House Ethics Committee closed its investigation into allegations that Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) had ties to a Chinese intelligence operative.
In a letter sent to Swalwell on Mondaythat the congressman released on his website the following day, the committee wrote that it will take no further action in the investigation into “allegations raised in the complaint that you may have violated House Rules, laws, or other standards of conduct in connection with your interactions with Ms. Christine Fang.” Per the letter, the investigation began in April 2021.

The trial of Donald J. Trump has been scheduled for March 25, 2024,the judge presiding over his Manhattan criminal case said at a hearing on Tuesday.

Mr. Trump attended the hearing remotely, making his first courtroom appearance since 34 felony charges were unveiled against him last month. He appeared to react angrily when the trial date was announced by Justice Juan Merchan, though his microphone was muted and it was unclear what he was saying to the lawyer seated next to him, Todd Blanche.
The trial is set for three weeks after Super Tuesday, one of the most important days on the Republican presidential primary calendar. And the disclosure of the date came just a day before Mr. Trump’s chief rival for the Republican nomination, Gov. It's an odd stance you take on this subject. You DO realize that it doesn't matter WHEN the law eventually catches up to Trump, only that it DOES, right? You get that all it takes is ONE legal judgement against him that removes his freedom, and you are wrong here, right? Jean Carroll $5 million, and then he defamed her again (stupid guy doesn't know how to keep his yap shut) and so she's going after another $10 million now...and she'll get some of that at least...AND his Trump Organization will likely be dissolved just as The Trump Foundation was. One of his former lawyers, Ty Cobb, has said he believes Trump is going to prison...I'll just say his freedom will be removed, because it's not clear where he will be housed once he is convicted (it does depend on which one is first). He could be given house arrest...could be kept locked up in some cushy thing somewhere...but it will be prison of some definition.

BUT, as we all know (or we all SHOULD know), Forbes relies heavily on self reporting for net worth. With the way that Trump acquires debt and has called himself the "king of debt", it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that Trump is worth $2.5 billion. He owns next to nothing outright.
