Frank Meza 2:53:10 at LA Marathon (70 years old) unofficial time (just finished)

The first Scott post I believe is legit. Subsequent "registered user" Scott posts I believe are troll posts.

Loyola High School scrubbed Frank Meza from their site. A school with their reputation wouldn’t just bend to the internet mob. The admin did their due diligence and came to a logical conclusion which led them to delete reference of a long standing coach and benefactor of their school. Parents, alums, and SJWs should take note.

He was raised by a single immigrant mother who worked as a seamstress . . . therefore he must not be a cheater ?!?!?

I never fake ran a mathon or claimed an age group world record for devoting my life to the poor.

when the boys do these workouts, the fast kids only get away from frankie b/c he has to pee, stretch and/or aimlessly wander at the top of the hill for a few minutes... and, then, of course, he regroups and breaks out in that 8:30 pace that we have all seen.

the funny/odd thing, this isn't frankie posting. frankie's grammar is terrible. doubler should post whatever correspondence that frankie sent him when doubler initially reached out to him.

I get it, Frank’s a great guy, it’s understandable why many support him and vehemently doubt that he did anything wrong. Scott is not and impartial observer, and other than giving a character reference, really only provided unverifiable opinions on Frank’s performance. So did the poster on the MI site. All we have to go on are the numerous inconsistencies, the previous DQs, missing the timing mats, not showing up in pictures on the course when the majority of others are, and the pictures showing him off the course. His own admissions don’t add up; leaving the course, then turning in a world record performance. Please, friends of Frank, provide us with something solid. Did you run a recent race with him that we can verify the results?

No wonder good old Frank can stretch, pee, wander off course, check out his stock portfolio, and update his fantasy league lineup when running a world’s best 2:53 marathon. He can do a 2:20 without all the shenanigans. In fact his AGP would put him in the 120% percentile and conver to a 1:44 marathon! He’s only a few suspicious 5K splits from qualifying for the 2020 OTs. All we need is the world’s fastest stone against the world’s older OT qualifier for a must see TV event!

Ah ha, the original post at least was by Scott Dominguez the lawyer...

Maybe, maybe not, the first lengthy post on Page 186 was an unregistered Scott Dominguez who did a straight copy and paste of the Scott Dominguez email narrative from the LA Times comments section of the article that the reporter said he believed was genuine.

The next day on Page 193 a registered Scott Dominguez starts posting, either it was the original unregistered troll or a new one who decided to register the name, could even be the real DA one, but doubtful.

Just like anything to with Frank there are going to be anomalies and shenanigans, it goes with the territory.

Trolls on letsrun? There is no evidence for that. Just look at the facts!

Maybe they do things differently over at Loyola, but I've never in my life known of parents training with their children on a high school cross country team. IF that's true, it seems a bit...odd. That just wasn't done when I was in high school, either on my team or at any other schools in my region, and would've been deemed bizarrely inappropriate if anyone even suggested it. Has anyone experienced or heard of this practice, either on their own teams or elsewhere?

I too am a proud father of a kid running XC and Track at Loyola. Go Cubs! I too want to put in my 2 cents about Doc Meza's superhuman running ability. Sometimes the boys will start on a tempo run, and Doc will go with them, only he will insist on starting last, by a lot! I mean, minutes, not seconds! Then, partway into the tempo run, Doc will suddenly appear in front of them, despite the fact that they are seriously cranking at 5:15 pace. HOW DOES HE DO IT? He starts with a significant time deficit, and yet he pops up in front of them? Many times, he is wearing a completely different outfit than before. Again, HOW??? Sometimes he is so far ahead of the boys (again, remember 5:15 pace,) that he is bored and his muscles are starting to tighten up, so he starts stretching. At times, he has been so far ahead of the boys that he has stopped to urinate on the side of a building. He admits that this is not setting a good example for the boys, but *wink wink* I guess there's a little bit of devil in all of us!

I swear, the man is superhuman, a mutant, a member of the X-Men or the Avengers or something. I have never wanted to believe in fairy tales or comic book stories, but Doc makes me believe such things are possible. Not only is "The Jackrabbit," as we call him, able to run at superhuman speed, but he also has the power of invisibility! And he runs so fast that he can change clothes and stretch while my son, a pretty gosh-darn good runner if I may say so myself as his father, struggles with oxygen debt!

In fact, The Jackrabbit is so incredibly fast that time itself cannot keep up with him! You heard me right. Doc must wear TWO watches instead of one, because one watch cannot keep up with him. When he started doing that,the boys started calling him Two-Face, you know after the Batman villain, but he didn't think that was funny, so we went back to "Jackrabbit."

At one point, during the days of D-Tag timing chips, I remember Doc entered a race and was dismayed to find out that RF technology could not keep up with his superhuman Jackrabbit speed. He was missing mats, due to the fact that his foot simply moved too quickly for RF technology. It was at that point that Doc started putting his D-Tag chips on a lanyard and wearing them around his neck, then lowering the tag to the mat by hand. Understand that this was a necessity due to the faults of D-Tag technology.

I have gotten to know Gene Dykes through this thread. Gene fractured his scapula midway after taking a hard fall at a trail 10k recently. He will be out of running for a couple months. I seem to remember Gene opining on a facebook post that it is tougher to get a WR for age groups because they are based on "gun" time. At Toronto he will be starting up front with the elites, hopefully. This would mean that Frank Meza's 2 recent times, would be "officially" much slower. Of course at LAM 2019, even with starting 48 seconds after the gun "fired"....he still beat the current WR. AND Gene Dykes time that is only disqualified from being the 70-74 WR because the "event" was not sanctioned. (though the course itself was eligible)
