Biden is in "obvious decline" both mentally & physically.
"But asking the country to elect a man who is 80 years old and whose second term would end when he is 86 is a risky act that borders on selfishness. It’s impossible to know Mr. Biden’s real physical and mental state because the White House goes to great lengths to hide it. But his decline is clear to anyone who isn’t willfully blind. He rarely holds a press conference, and his words are as scripted as possible to avoid embarrassing stumbles that he nonetheless continues to make."

Your reply doesn't strike me as consistent with the optimism of your initial post. "Great news" would be if the civic damage Fox does by promoting Trumpism would be substantively reduced by the departure of Carlson. Simply failing to find a "star" that shines quite as bright as Carlson would not qualify as "great news."
It would be great if something so simple could make a meaningful dent in Trumpism. But it won't.

I do think the firing of carlson will great for America.
Not just for getting him out of the spotlight
but his firing is also a threat to other m'aga bomb throwers. If carlson wasn't too big to get fired, nobody is. So be more careful.
Carlson and trump are really really good at what they do. No one else is as good. Either one gone would help the nation heal.
The way this goes sour is if Carlson runs for prez or is trump's veep...and Kari Lake takes over his spot.
That would be a material hit to the american body politic.

- Fox folks did exactly what they've been doing for years, BUT never talked about the election being stolen. Everything else, just not that.
- And Carlson wasn't on, just some other moran in his place.
