Help the underlying, not the indicator. Re-election won't happen if everyone's out of a job, but stocks are high because da fed bought the ETFs. It'll play right into the dems hands. Only helping the rich stock owners. CEOs could give themselves options knowing the fed going to buy the dip.
Really dumb idea. Plus it didn't work for Japan.

Thanks, just responding to what others posted. Hey, could you explain that VIX thing for me? Why would anyone buy the VIX going into a Friday close when historically there's a ramp into the finish?
Does it mean anythng for the market direction next week?
VIX is based in part on historical pricing and option variability. Generally is viewed as a measurement of volatility and market stress. I would chose another vehicle if I was betting on a market direction. As a signal for next week, somewhat meaningless.

Igloi's still one of the the only bears on this thread. No surprise, it's just a correction so far and optimism about V recovery abounds. Agip calling the bottom every week. I don't think the bear side is crowded.

Serious question, Igy. Why should we give ANY credence to anything Hussman says? His Strategic Fund (the one he loves so much) is one of the worst funds EVER. Why when he had repeatedly shown to be a sham should we believe anything he says? Again, serious question. Morningstar considers his Strategic fund a joke.

I stocked up as soon as I got back into the country. Have had to hide TP from Mrs Maserati.?
Has always felt good to have food in the pantry, that doesn’t require refrigeration.
BTW the 2lbs mixed nuts at Costco are a very good deal. I don’t do Costco, but a friend was good enough to get some for me.
IDK what Monday will bring, but it sure seems sketchy. I wonder if overseas markets will have any bearing on things.
