Where does one start with with the "Horseface" crap? Well, here goes:

1) It OBVIOUSLY makes Trump look like a particularly shallow, immature, transparently dishonest sexist. No surprise there.

2) Ditto, of course, you and every other Trumper who uses it.

3) Just like ALL of his "bad hires," pretty sure it was consensual with Stormy, so....he's admitting he has bad taste?

4) She was/is a very attractive lady. Like with so many rich men, far better than he ever would have gotten if not for his daddy giving him a lot of money.

5) Lastly, the vast majority of the Trumpers who parrot "Horseface" WOULD take her in a moment, AND would have zero chance succeeding - with her, or any other woman nearly as good looking.

Other than that, you and Trump are awesome.

Not sure that his hiring skills are lacking. Basically, anyone who would work for him, who is not a loony or a grifter, will be forced , by intelligence, competence and integrity, to oppose him.

So he is left with three options for hiring:

1) Loonies

2) Grifters

3) People who will oppose him

No one in the world could hire well if restricted to these options.

But I think that they probably are lacking, because he never MEANS to do #3. If he was smarter, he'd always just do #1 and #2.

My well-educated guess is that his incredibly shallow brain gets completely distracted by someone who "looks the part" - e.g., Rex Tillerson, central-casting CEO type, GEN Milley (and GENs Mattis and Kelly), central-casting General types, etc.

And then later (usually not much later) he realizes, "Crap, they're not complete 'Yes men'". And then claims that he knew that they were bad all along, utterly oblivious to the self-own. AND, his followers NEVER realize, "Hey wait, our titan of industry is shi**y at hiring!"

He's largely just a straight moron, just like his believers.

....and as many have predicted, in a second term he may FINALLY get better at hiring only #1 and #2, and we'll be even more screwed than the first time around (amongst many other reasons).

great post, and I'd add that anyone who can get him or herself on TV a lot, or at least stay in the news, is halfway hired right away. Spanks loves people who are on TV - he thinks that is equal to talent. Which tells you why Trump has no shame - he mostly thinks that the most important thing is to have people talking about you. And he is amazing at that. Best in the world.

But that's at least kind of his point. Trump (and/or other Rs) could do or say pretty much anything on a given day, and the Trumpers would hear little or nothing about it in prime time (at least) on Fox, but WOULD hear a nice medley from the list above. Ditto from the mouths of most of the R politicians.

Culture wars over democracy. Culture wars over the rule of law. Culture wars over being on FREAKIN' Putin's side (they're BETTER about that, on average, but that's not saying much). Etc., etc.

There's nothing wrong with "culture war" issues as long as you debate them in good faith.
