What they are going to do is leave most of the key elements of Obamacare intact, maybe get a few democrats to agree, pass those changes and try to take credit for passing a bi-partisan healthcare reform bill.
In the end, it will not be a repeal of Obamacare.
BUT IT MUST be rebranded Trumpcare. Keeping the name Obamacare is a bigly disaster for the country.

This is the end game for socialized medicine. Regular people get screwed and elites get special treatment. This is what communism is all about. It does not end well. Disco Gary is right.
Humans always think the can fix everything. In reality, all they end up doing is taking sides and making things worse, which they will then try to fix and make things even worse. This is why every government program gets worse with age and enhancements. You can not save everyone; save the majority of people. I know it sounds cruel, but this is how nature works.
If you are rich and you feel the world is being cruel to someone then by all means donate your money out of the kindness of your heart and make yourself feel better. Don't force others to do it.
That this is also the end game for medicine under capitalism too, right? Regular people get screwed and elites get special treatment. So it's all the same in the end.
Now the question then is exactly what you say in paragraph #2... you can not save everyone; save the majority of people>>> so back to the question at hand, how do the republicans plan to do that??? Just have a plan is all anyone is asking... not we'll end Obamacare and figure out what to replace it with later. That' certainly not the answer I'm hoping for from our 'leaders'.

No. No. No.
They were slick with the wording.
They didn't say it would be $2500 less, they said it would save on average $2500.
For example, if costs on average were projected to rise by $6000 in year X but it it wound up rising by only $3,500, then you saved $2,500.
A projection isn't a fact. You can't lie about a projection.
And since a projection based on variables that changed cannot be proven, then you can't really determine an actual savings anyway.
Now was there any average savings over what would have been?
We don't know,.

Why do they not insists that the Fed's pay all private debt?
Because it's so far down the list of priorities. When everything else is taken care of and when the treasury is at such a surplus that it can afford it, sure, pay off everyone's private debt. But I'm not holding my breath that we'll live to see that day.

Borrow $1000 from yourself. Are you in a hurry to pay it back?
This is basic macro economics. I'm not faulting you for not knowing it.
The fault lies with others with far more power and influence who know better yet continue to misrepresent the way money works when a country prints its own currency.

Do you get free health care? $2500/yr is nothing and I have a healthy family. I'd be happy if it were ONLY $2500. This is a serious question.
Ha ha ha
The lie that the demoshits pitched was families would pay $2500 a year less.....they are actually paying $2500 more- not total you clueless fck; and the quality and choice of their healthcare has dropped significantly.
But it matters not. You free loading fcks are going to be cut off and FCKN DIE. It is just a matter of timeðŸ‘
Why do you keep saying cut off and die?
One, we all die, including you pumpkin.
Two, Trump is NEVER going to cancel medical insurance or stop hospitals from treating emergencies if the person doesn't have health insurance. Never. So get over yourself.

We're talking about the Feds paying off everyone's home loans, car loans, and credit card debt, not the Federal debt.
The "general welfare" crowd is saying that's a responsibility of the Federal Government.
DiscoGary wrote:The "general welfare" crowd is saying that's a responsibility of the Federal Government.
That's a pretty small crowd of bankers/debt holders looking for their next bonanza disguised as something the Right can dislike.
If you want to reply with "But Sanders' platform was.." I'd argue everyone benefits from an education. And yes, that makes an opportunity to drive some education costs up even higher. I don't have all the answers.

It's as serious a response as it can be.
Give me a future when the US treasury has trillions of dollars of assets instead of debt and there are no other problems going on anywhere: criminal justice, environment, education, health care, housing, poverty, infrastructure and everything you can think of is functioning flawlessly, then we can worry about personal debt.
Meaning that in a fantasy world with no more pressing problems, sure. But in the real world, it's not going to happen.

My observations.....
Forcing people to obtain healthcare is a bad idea.
People without healthcare going to the ER then never paying the bill is also a bad idea.
Force those workout healthcare to obtain emergency healthcare if they can't afford ER services out of pocket at the point of service. These short term plans (which currently do not meet the ACA mandate) would be mandatory at the point of service for those without healthcare. These short term plans can be managed by the ACA marketplace.
Keep the pre-existing conditions clause. Sorry healthcare companies.
Provide healthcare rebates for those in "good physical condition" and higher rebates for those in "excellent physical condition". These terms need to be worked out but statistics can provide a baseline. Devise a simple test based on cholesterol level, blood pressure, blood glucose and a presidential fitness test easily conducted in a doctors office setting.
Alan
Interesting idea, but this won't work.
Remember that insurance companies:
a) are only in it to make money
b) are very good at crunching numbers.
They probably already know what the average cost per episode of care is for those arriving at an emergency room, some of whom will warrant hospitalization, others of whom won't.
Let's say that this average number is $2000 per Emergency Room arrival. They will charge more than this for the coverage.
How will the patients who couldn't pay for the ED visit in the first place pay for this?
And won't those who KNOW they have something that will only need a single ED visit skip out on this? This will mean average costs for the rest will be higher, as will the insurance change.....
I find myself strangely between the opposing forces in these health care yelling matches. I believe everyone should have a very basic level of "general welfare" provided to them by we the people. It should not be a desirable standard of living - cheap food in your mouth, a roof over your head, and yes even a doctor to treat your ails - because naturally there should still be incentive to increase that GDP and better your circumstances. With more success you're afforded better food, housing, health care, but we the people ought have a safety net to at least keep you alive.
And despite DG's awful baseball ump analogy, the rules do indeed give the government the ability to levy taxes to accomplish this.
I think it's safe to say that the GOP plan is not known, not even by the most GOP of GOPers. There's been talk of what they THINK the GOP should do, but very few have actually said what the plan really is. I think it's because they really do not know.

As long as "The Plan" is someone else paying your bills you are good with that.....hugh you FCKN libbbbbbbtard?
Once you have to pay for your own healthcare that is when your libbbbbtard meltdown occurs😂
That was a brilliant discussion of the plan the GOP has for reforming health care in the USA. Very informative. Also very wrong.

Having said that, the Republicans have said they have 5 proposals. They just have to pick one. Just hold your horses and wait. Trump is not even President yet and I'm the liberals will make it very tough for him to pass anything.
Why are you going to reject the Obamacare replacement plan and why?

You were asked the question because you made several dumb statements yourself while acting like you had the answers. Apparently you don't have the answers so maybe don't act like solutions to the mess that is health care are simple.
