I mean come on, some of the runners with the highest q scores in the industry are Michael Ko (Kofuzi), Seth DeMoor (well until he retired a couple months back), and Matt Choi. And the one who is above them all, but I wouldn't call him a runner anymore, more like a circus act whose stage is often the track, is Nick Symmonds. Dude hasn't raced anything longer than the 100m wife carry championship in over a year and has 1.4 million subscribers and is getting hundreds of thousands of views per video.

so she used spironolactone cream? shouldn't be systemically absorbed if she just used a topical cream. doesn't make sense

I was surprised she didn’t address it sooner. Facts are, this was an rx for an issue she dealt with and slipped up on getting the TUE. She continued making her silly videos, only addressing this on Youtube after news leaked. It struck me as odd that she wasn’t more transparent about this mistake given she’s pretty transparent about most other things related to her running.

I am surprised that everyone is taking the reason for the masking agent at face value. When do we ever even listen to the excuse provided?

The fact is that it was a masking agent on the banned substance list. She took it, and she admits. That means she's a doper. full stop.

USADA noted the violation and meted out a 4 month ban, for use of a masking agent without a TUE, not doping. You can say what you want here, but the papers have been signed the suspension served. Seeing how AllieO was running some 20 or 30 seconds behind PB range for 5K indicates that PED at the time use was unlikely.

Right. There have been worse violations than what was found this time. Undoubtedly, the USADA went easy on a first time offense. That's fine. How is it to AllieO's credit if she is unable to dope effectively?

Regardless, none of that changes that AlliO will forever be known as a caught doper, which she confessed to doing (albeit with her reasons). She is better than Houlihan in this regard. People like her or feel sorry for her and excuse the doping on these nonsensical grounds, apparently. I used to like her, but now I don't since I don't like cheaters.

We believe in clean sport and will have USADA onsite drug testing under WADA code - specifics can be found on our Golden Trail Series page

Any athlete banned by the International Association of Athletics Federations, World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), US Anti-Doping Agency, or any national sports federation is prohibited from competing at any Mammoth Trail Fest race. Once the ban has been lifted, they can participate but are not eligible to receive prize money, awards, podium recognition, or competitive rankings

We will not require Quartz participation by any athletes at our event. Further information on our race day drug testing policy, stance on Quartz, and helpful information on medication and supplement use can be found on our Golden Trail Series page

I'll say that as far as performance, she looked a lot stronger on this course than she did at Leadville. I watched some of the YouTube coverage by Mountain Outpost. So, kudos to Allie for learning something from the mistakes made last week.

That said, I hope that they stick with what they claim on their website. Nobody on the live broadcast, when she finished, mentioned anything about her getting a suspension. Dylan Bowman must know about her using a banned substance (irunfar does report it beside her results in their coverage) but instead talked about her living in Seattle and her collegiate record.

She should have known that this won't get her prize money, awards, or competitive ranking (isn't this why she's doing the golden trail series?).

Allie is a cute, white girl. They will give her the prize.

Allie 100% will get paid.

More importantly, she's sponsored by Kilian's brand. That guy can be warned to stop cutting corners, continue to cut corners, and not be DQ'd. Pretty sure they will not say anything about her doping suspension.
