Four seconds off an American record. Tough room....
I get it the time is good. But Cranny’s near record had her running 7,000 meters solo and Schweizer if anything seems to be better at this point. It was set up well to run fast today and it was more Schweizer getting dropped than no medal.
What’s your point. Schweitzer ran 30:18.05 for 9th the 3rd fastest for an American ever a 30 second PR. Can’t be disappointed with that. What you expect her to close in 60 and run an AR to contend for the win?
Hardly surprising she got dropped at the end by women who have run a minute faster than the American record.
The third place finisher’s PBs coming in were 14:27 and 30:45 at that Ethiopian Trials race. Karissa is in monster shape. I’m not saying she ran bad at all, I just would like to think she’d have been around where Fisher was last year.
You can't just "run right over" someone who's going roughly the same speed as you, tough guy
Yeah you can. I would contact her wherever it happened as a result of her action, then trample her as she went down.
That was ridiculous. You guys think that’s fair? The race is 10,000m, not 9,980m and then cut people off. It’s first to 10,000m, not first to 9,980m or whatever.
It is unsportsmanlike and totally dishonorable. She should be ashamed, but I know some people lack the capacity to feel shame. At a minimum she should be DQ’d.
What about an appeal? That was flagrant.
I see you always telling people on these boards to stick to distance when they make sprint commentary. So ill just repeat that sentiment for you. Stick to sprinting, you dont have a clue what you are talking about here.

Drifting happens more often than not in distance races. It results in a DQ virtually never. It results in trampling exactly never.

Cranny had pacing lights and cooler conditions. Schweitzer had to contend with the pace speeding up and slowing, running wide sometimes to avoid a box, jostling etc. That all took something out of her when she got to the last 2 laps. Can't really compare her performance to Cranny's time trial.
I’ll agree to disagree. The 8th place finishers resume doesn’t impress me much. Maybe I’m wrong, the time is good I just think she should’ve been a few spots higher and hanging on a bit longer. Thanks everyone for staying respectful even when we disagree.
Warholm looked relieved for finishing his first race this year. But is this good enough for gold, let alone a medal?
I think he looked good which is a relief. And his first 200 would have him in striking distance unless Dos Santos has the start of his life. Benjamin likes to close hard.
